Minoan Toxotai - 32mm Resin Miniatures Squad

The Minoan Toxotai are a squad of heavily armoured ranged warriors fusing ancient Aegean warrior culture with brutal far-future battlefield technology. This listing includes five physical resin miniatures, each already printed, cleaned, and support-free, ready for assembly and painting straight out of the box.

The squad features five distinct sculpts. Three carry imposing heavy bolter-style weapons decorated with Greek meander (key pattern) friezes along the receiver, giving each gun a ceremonial yet ferocious character. One warrior shoulders a long-barrelled sniper platform with optical scope, crouching in a ready-to-fire stance. The fifth stands bare-chested in partial power armour, aiming a compact rifle with menacing composure. Helmets vary across the squad, with crested Corinthian-style helms, bull-horned warrior visors, and goggled combat masks, reinforcing the Minoan and Mycenaean aesthetic throughout. Skull iconography, layered pauldrons, feathered crests, and ammunition-belt skirts all contribute to a unique look that stands apart from any standard faction.

Each miniature is cast in high-detail grey resin at 32mm scale, capturing fine surface textures on armour panels, cabling, and ornamental detail. The five models ship on individual 25mm or 32mm round bases.

These models work as a standalone collector piece or as a complete ranged infantry squad in any sci-fi rank-and-flank or skirmish wargame. The palette below leans into aged bronze, sun-bleached bone and volcanic stone to reflect the Aegean world these warriors draw from. Adjust freely to match your force colour scheme.

1. Prime

• Wash the resin pieces in warm soapy water, rinse, and allow to dry fully before priming.
• Apply a grey or white spray primer in thin, even coats from roughly 25 cm away to preserve surface detail.

2. Armour Base

• Base coat armour panels in a deep bronze or dark brass tone.
• Layer up with a lighter gold-bronze mix on raised edges to suggest worn, ceremonial plating.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out Greek key (meander) friezes on weapons and armour in bright gold or polished brass.
• Paint skull iconography and eagle/wing motifs in off-white or aged bone for contrast.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat weapon bodies in dark iron or gunmetal grey.
• Drybrush barrel ends and grip rails with bright silver to show heavy use and wear.

5. Weathering

• Apply a dark brown or sepia wash across all armour recesses to deepen shadows and unify the palette.
• Stipple a verdigris (blue-green) effect selectively on lower armour plates and joints to suggest oxidised ancient bronze.

6. Bases

• Texture the base with a fine pumice or ash-coloured paste and drybrush with pale stone tones to evoke a volcanic or ancient ruin environment, matching the dramatic red mountain backdrop these warriors are styled against.
