This guide is written for hobbyists who want to push the figure toward a classical high fantasy palette, leaning into cool silvers, warm gold accents and a glowing magical feather as the hero element.

1. Prime

• Apply a light grey spray primer all over to preserve the fine surface detail in the face, tome pages and armour etching.
• Follow with a thin zenithal pass of white from above to establish natural light direction before painting begins.

2. Armour Base

• Basecoat the breastplate and pauldrons with a cool mid-grey, then layer up toward off-white on raised edges to suggest polished elven plate.
• Shade the recesses of the armour with a thin blue-grey wash to add depth without muddying the highlights.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out the chain belt, clasps and decorative etching with a warm pale gold to contrast against the cool armour.
• Paint the long coat panels in deep forest green or midnight blue, layering up to a lighter shade at folds and hems for fabric volume.
