From the grim annals of the Forgotten Champions rises Kaelrox, a battle-hardened dwarf fighter who has carved his legend across shattered mountain kingdoms and bloodsoaked plains. Sculpted by Haito, this single resin miniature captures every scar, skull trophy, and weathered plate of a warrior who has outlasted entire armies through sheer brutal will.

Kaelrox stands broad and defiant, dual curved blades gripped low and ready, his bare scalp and wild beard framing a face etched with centuries of conflict. Large swept horns crown his pauldrons, and skull motifs adorn his belt, chain trophies, and chest clasps, marking each enemy he has ground beneath his ironshod boots. A heavy cloak billows behind him, revealing an ornate horned helm variant on the reverse sculpt, adding striking visual depth from every angle on the tabletop.

This Forgotten Champions release is a resin 32mm scale miniature supplied unpainted and unassembled, ready for priming and your personal brush work. The level of detail Haito has achieved across the layered armour plates, textured fur trim, and rocky scenic base insert makes Kaelrox equally suited as a centrepiece hero or a fearsome squad leader in any fantasy skirmish system.

Whether you are building a collection of elite Forgotten Champions or seeking a singular, characterful warrior to anchor your warband, Kaelrox delivers the presence and craftsmanship to dominate any display shelf or gaming table.

Painting Guide: Kaelrox Champion - Dwarf Fighter

This guide focuses on a grimdark palette that honours the brutal aesthetic of the Forgotten Champions range, blending aged metal, deep earth tones, and stark bone accents to bring Kaelrox to life.

1. Prime

  • Apply a zenithal prime using black at the base and a light grey or off-white from above to pre-shade the deep armour recesses and raised details naturally.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat all armour plates with a dark iron or gunmetal grey, keeping coverage thin to preserve zenithal contrast.
  • Apply a dark brown wash across all plated sections to deepen recesses and unify the worn look.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out skull motifs, belt studs, and chain links with aged bone or pale ivory, shading with a diluted sepia wash.
  • Paint the fur trim and cloak in a warm mid-brown, layering up with sandy highlights on the raised fabric folds.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the curved blades with a dark steel tone, then edge highlight with bright silver along each cutting edge.
  • Add a subtle rust wash near the blade guards and crossguards to reinforce the battle-worn character of the Forgotten Champions aesthetic.

5. Weathering

  • Drybrush raised armour edges lightly with bright silver to simulate genuine combat wear and chipping across the entire figure.
  • Stipple diluted dark brown at joints, boot soles, and lower armour sections to suggest mud, grime, and prolonged campaign use.

6. Bases

  • Paint the scenic rock base in dark grey, drybrush with mid-stone and then pale grey highlights, finish with a thin brown earth wash in crevices and add static grass tufts at the edges for natural contrast.
