Hanae is a striking samurai warrior miniature, sculpted in fine detail and supplied as a physical resin miniature ready to assemble and paint. Standing approximately 32mm scale, this single-figure release captures the fierce spirit of a kneeling warrior, naginata held across her body in a moment of cold resolve. Her flowing robes are covered in intricate pattern work, and a horned oni mask rests at her shoulder, hinting at a darker power lurking beneath her calm exterior.
The sculpt rewards careful brushwork. Every fold of fabric, every coil of rope belt, and every strand of windswept hair has been rendered with precision by a highly skilled sculptor. The rocky base adds a strong sense of environment, grounding Hanae in a world of ancient conflict and shadow. This is a single miniature supplied with supports already removed and cleaned, ready for your painting table.
Whether you are building a themed warband, adding a centrepiece to your collection, or simply looking for a rewarding painting project, this piece delivers on all fronts. The design draws inspiration from feudal Eastern warrior traditions, filtered through a darker and more mythic lens. The result is a character full of personality and narrative weight. This piece was designed by Haito, whose craftsmanship brings Hanae's fierce character and intricate detail to life.
Each miniature is produced in high-quality grey resin, capturing fine surface detail across the entire sculpt. No printing equipment is required. The model arrives as a physical piece, cleaned and ready to prime.
Painting Guide: Hanae - SamuraiPainting Hanae is a rewarding project for hobbyists of all skill levels. The sculpt is packed with distinct zones that each benefit from a focused approach, from the patterned robes to the pale skin and weathered weapon.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or white spray primer to preserve fine surface detail across the robe patterns and face.
- Allow to cure fully before moving to base coats.
2. Armour Base
- Block in the robes with a warm off-white or pale stone tone, keeping the base coat thin to preserve the etched line work.
- Apply a muted grey-green or dark indigo to any secondary robe layers for contrast.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the rope belt with a mid-tan highlighted up to cream.
- Paint the oni mask in a deep red or weathered bone tone, adding subtle black lining around the eyes and horns.
4. Weapons
- Paint the naginata haft in a warm dark wood brown, highlighted with a lighter grain-following stroke.
- Basecoat the blade in dark steel and build up to a bright silver edge highlight, leaving darker tones in the recesses.
5. Weathering
- Apply a diluted brown or sepia wash over the robes to settle into the pattern lines and add age to the fabric.
- Add fine chipping to the blade using a torn foam sponge and a dark metallic mix.
6. Bases
- Drybrush the rocky base with progressively lighter grey tones, finishing with an almost-white highlight on raised edges.
- Add tufts or moss to suggest a remote mountain setting that suits the character of Hanae.
