Gothic Sci-Fi elegance meets battlefield ferocity in the Spacelair Fighters, a squad of ten slender, razor-armed warriors sculpted with exceptional detail and dynamic character. Each figure stands approximately 43mm from feet to eyes, lending them a striking presence on any wargaming table. Clad in intricately panelled void armour with crested helms and flowing robes, these warriors carry a mix of long blades, hooked sabres, and elegant spears, each pose full of coiled energy and predatory grace.

This set arrives as ten physical resin miniatures, supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for you to assemble and paint straight out of the box. The sculpts showcase a sophisticated gothic sci-fi aesthetic, blending ancient warrior tradition with hard-edged futuristic armour design. Whether fielded as a fast assault unit or elite line infantry, the variety of poses and weapon loadouts gives the squad genuine visual depth across the tabletop.

Two distinct weapon configurations are visible across the set. Several fighters carry paired close-combat blades suited for aggressive, fast-moving playstyles, while others hold long hafted spears ideal for representing reach weapons or elite guard units. The flowing robes and feathered crests carry an otherworldly quality that sets them apart from standard infantry, making them a centrepiece worthy of careful brushwork.

DakkaDakka sculpts these figures with hobbyists in mind, balancing fine surface detail with practical paintability. The clean resin surfaces take primer and paint evenly, and the sculptural depth rewards both quick washes and patient layering alike.

Painting Guide: Gothic Sci-Fi Space Elf Warriors - Spacelair Fighters

These warriors reward a cool, refined palette. Bone whites, deep jewel tones, and tarnished metallics all suit their aesthetic well. The guide below gives you a solid route from bare resin to a finished squad.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of grey or white primer to preserve fine edge detail on crests and robes.

2. Armour Base

  • Block in the armour panels with a pale bone, off-white, or deep midnight blue depending on your chosen scheme.
  • For a classic look, use a warm ivory base and shade with a diluted brown wash to pick out panel lines.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out helmet crests and robe borders with a contrasting colour such as deep crimson or cold silver.
  • Highlight raised edges with a lightened version of your base colour to bring out the sculptural detail.

4. Weapons

  • Base blades in a dark steel or gunmetal, then edge highlight with a bright silver to give them a sharp, lethal quality.
  • For spear hafts, a warm wood tone or wrapped leather brown adds a tactile contrast against the cool armour.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a thin glaze of blue-grey or brown to recessed areas to suggest shadow and wear without losing the refined look.
  • A very light drybrush of pale silver over blade edges adds battle-worn sharpness.

6. Bases

  • Cracked wasteland, urban rubble, or dark void stone textures all complement the gothic sci-fi character of these warriors well.
