Gothic Sci-fi design meets dark fantasy in this striking squad of winged warrior elves, the Spacelair Airborne Anchorites. Each figure is a physical resin miniature, supplied with supports already removed and cleaned, ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. The squad measures 31mm from feet to eyes, giving them commanding presence on any tabletop battlefield.
This set contains 8 models in total, including a variety of dynamic poses: figures perched atop rocky pillars wielding long-barrelled rifles, ground-level warriors in aggressive stances, and a larger leader figure with a flowing cloak and ornate weapon. A decorative trophy marker is also included. Each model features intricate detailing across chitinous armour plates, tattered robes, wide bat-like wings with veined membranes, and insectoid helmets. The sculpting quality from DakkaDakka captures the unsettling elegance these warriors are known for, blending organic textures with sharp, angular technology.
These miniatures are ideal for skirmish wargames, squad-based tabletop games, or display collections. The Gothic Sci aesthetic runs throughout every surface, from the corroded trim on their armour to the baroque weapon housings. Whether you field them as a fast-moving flanking unit or a specialist sniper cadre, these models bring atmosphere and detail to your gaming table.
Each miniature arrives as a physical resin cast. Parts may require light assembly and superglue. Painting and basing materials are sold separately.
Painting Guide: Gothic Sci-Fi Space Elf Warriors – Spacelair Airborne Anchorites SquadThe Gothic Sci aesthetic of these models rewards a dark, contrast-heavy approach. The combination of pale skin, black armour, and verdigris metal creates a sinister, ancient warrior look that suits their background perfectly.
1. Prime
- Apply a black or dark grey primer across the entire model for deep shadow coverage.
- Follow with a light zenithal dusting of white or pale grey from above to pre-shade raised surfaces.
2. Armour Base
- Apply a deep black or dark navy base coat across all armour panels.
- Edge highlight with cold grey or blue-grey to define the angular plate lines.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint bone or ivory tones onto the wing membranes, building up from a mid-tone base.
- Apply a soft wash of sepia or brown shade into the recesses of robes and organic surfaces.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat weapon shafts in dark metal using gunmetal or dark steel paint.
- Highlight barrels and edges with bright silver, then glaze over with a blue or purple ink for an otherworldly sheen.
5. Weathering
- Drybrush light grey or off-white across the wing tips and cloak hems to simulate wear.
- Apply a thin wash of black or dark brown around joints and weapon housings to add grime.
6. Bases
- Paint the rocky pillar bases in stone grey, wash with dark brown, then drybrush light grey and cream for a crumbling ruin effect.
