“The ash cakes in the eagle feathers on their chests until they look moulted, not cast. They march anyway, plasma coils ticking as they cool, waiting to be needed again.”
Dragon Infernos

The Dragon Infernos are a squad of five hulking resin warriors, each one armoured head to boot in layered plate adorned with feathered chest eagles, scaled tabards, and snarling dragon motifs that run across belts, shields, and weapon housings alike. Sculpted by Atlan Forge, these 32mm figures carry themselves with the kind of immovable weight that marks a veteran heavy infantry unit, broad through the shoulder, squat in stance, and packed with surface detail that rewards every hour spent at the painting desk.

Supplied unpainted.

The squad covers a wide spread of battlefield roles. One warrior braces a twin-pod missile battery across his back and levels a dragon-mawed plasma weapon forward. Another raises a long chainblade overhead in a two-handed grip, grenades hanging from his pauldron trim. A third stands wide-legged with a heavy rotary cannon cradled low, his free arm balled into a powered fist. The fourth carries a bolter-pattern rifle adorned with a horned beast skull and keeps a short combat blade at his hip. The fifth is heavyset even by the squad's standards, armed with a heavy multi-barrelled weapon and a reinforced gauntlet shaped for close-quarters punishment.

Every miniature in the set arrives as a physical resin piece, supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint. The part layout is generous: multiple shoulder pad variants, interchangeable torso halves, a full set of arm and weapon options, and five distinct heads are included, giving hobbyists real freedom to build a squad that looks exactly the way they want it to.

Detail density is high across the entire range. Feathered pauldrons, scaled leather kilts, draped tabards worked with flame imagery, riveted belt buckles, and textured faulds fill every surface. These are centrepiece-quality figures that work equally well as a painted display unit or a hard-hitting presence on the gaming table.

Painting Guide: Dragon Infernos

The squad's design lends itself to a deep, heat-scorched colour scheme built around dark armour, warm metallic trim, and glowing weapon coils. The following steps offer a solid route from bare resin to a finished, display-ready result.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or black spray primer in thin, even coats, working carefully into the recessed feather and scale detail before any basecoating begins.

2. Armour Base

  • Base coat the armour plates in a deep forest green or volcanic black-green, building coverage in two thin layers.
  • Wash the entire armour surface with a dark brown or black shade to pull definition into the layered plate and feathered shoulder trim.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out belt buckles, dragon motifs, chest eagles, and pauldron edging in a warm bronze or antique gold base coat, then wash with a dark tone shade.
  • Highlight raised edges of the gold trim with a bright gold or pale yellow-gold, keeping strokes tight and controlled on the fine feather tips.

4. Weapons

  • Base coat weapon barrels and housings in dark iron or gunmetal, then dry-brush with a mid-silver to lift the mechanical detail.
  • For plasma coils and energy vents, start with a deep teal or turquoise base and build up to a bright white-blue at the hottest point using thin glazes.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple thinned dark brown along armour lower edges and boot plates to suggest scorched grime and ash-field wear.
  • Add fine silver edge chips along the most exposed armour corners using a small piece of torn blister foam for a controlled, random result.

6. Bases

  • Texture paste in a cracked volcanic rock finish pairs naturally with the squad's imagery. Dry-brush the base surface in pale grey and add a thin orange glaze into the deepest cracks to suggest cooling lava beneath the surface.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
