The Dragon Knights Inferno Captain is a formidable single-model resin miniature designed for grimdark sci-fi wargaming, standing approximately 40mm tall and arriving as a physical, pre-printed resin kit with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned and sanded where needed. This imposing commander wears heavily corrupted power armour adorned with demonic horns, feathered pauldrons, and a scaled tabard, exuding authority and menace on any battlefield. The miniature ships ready to assemble and paint, requiring only basic hobby tools and adhesive to complete.
Sculpted with exceptional detail, the Dragon Knights Inferno Captain features a massive toothed thunder hammer in one hand and a large cleaving axe in the other, with daemonic skull motifs and grotesque organic mutations woven throughout the armour plating. The back view reveals an ornate circular backpack and a broad scale-textured cloak that cascades dramatically to the base. Every surface rewards careful painting, from the layered feather trim to the spiked helm wreathed in sculpted flames.
This miniature is an ideal centrepiece or warlord model for any corrupted or renegade sci-fi faction warband. The Dragon Knights Inferno Captain will draw attention on the tabletop and in any display cabinet. Supplied as a single-character model on a scenic rocky base insert, cast in high-detail grey resin.
Scale: approximately 40mm. Miniature may require minor assembly. Paints, glue, and tools sold separately.
Painting Guide: Dragon Knights Inferno Captain - Sci-Fi Wargaming MiniaturesThe Dragon Knights Inferno Captain rewards a bold, high-contrast paint scheme. The following guide walks you through a recommended approach for tabletop-quality results with display potential.
1. Prime
- Apply a zenithal prime using black at the base and white or light grey from above to establish instant shading and highlight placement.
- Allow primer to cure fully before proceeding.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the power armour panels in a deep midnight blue or obsidian black for a corrupted, sinister look.
- Alternatively, use a dark crimson red to evoke infernal allegiance, thinning to two smooth coats.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint all trim, rivets, and decorative filigree in a tarnished brass or aged gold tone, applying washes of brown and sepia to add depth.
- Pick out the feathered pauldron details in ivory or bone, shading with a diluted brown wash and re-highlighting with off-white.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the thunder hammer head in gunmetal, then apply a blue-white OSL glow effect around the teeth to suggest crackling energy.
- Paint the axe blade in dark steel with streaks of rust orange toward the edge, adding chipped metallic highlights for a battle-worn finish.
5. Weathering
- Stipple chipped paint effects across armour edges using a torn foam sponge and a mix of dark grey and the base armour colour.
- Apply a pin wash of dark brown or black into all recesses to sharpen definition across the scaled tabard and organic mutations.
6. Bases
- Paint the rocky base insert in dark slate grey, drybrush with medium grey and then light stone, and finish with tufts of dead grass or scorched earth texture paste to match a hellish warzone aesthetic.
