The Cybernetic Allosaur is the ultimate fusion of prehistoric killing machine and brutal industrial war technology, a living engine of destruction that shakes the ground with every thunderous stride. This single centrepiece model depicts a massive armoured theropod beast outfitted with a full suite of battlefield augmentations, its natural reptilian hide overlaid with bolted combat plating, mechanical joint reinforcements and hardpoint-mounted weapon systems across its flanks and shoulders. The jaws gape wide in a primal roar, rows of serrated teeth framed by armoured cheek guards and sensor arrays, marking this creature as something far more dangerous than mere animal instinct alone could produce.
Supplied on a 170mm oval base. Approximate assembled dimensions: 200mm length x 130mm height to mount head, rising to approximately 175mm at the tip of the rider's spear
Mounted atop the Cybernetic Allosaur sits a heavily armoured warrior rider, a hulking brute clad in thick power armour adorned with horned helmet, trophy fetishes and studded pauldrons. The rider wields a long ceremonial war-spear raised high in command, directing the beast with absolute authority across the killing ground. Rider and mount together form a combined arms weapons platform, the beast providing raw unstoppable momentum while the rider delivers precision strikes and battlefield leadership from an elevated, near-unassailable position.
The weapon systems on this kit are extraordinarily comprehensive and fully magnet-ready, with weapons and saddle seats compatible with 5x2mm and 8x2mm magnets for complete loadout flexibility. The allosaur itself carries interchangeable flank-mounted weapon platforms including rotary cannons, multi-barrelled heavy weapons and armoured shield panels. The rider component is equally modular, with multiple torso options, head variants including helmeted and bare skull choices, arm configurations, chain whips, spears, firearms and shoulder-mounted weapon systems all included in the kit.
This model is an immediate visual centrepiece that commands attention across an entire tabletop. The contrast between raw organic reptilian texture and cold riveted industrial armour plating creates a visual tension that rewards both bold contrasting paint schemes and more unified grimdark approaches equally.
Supplied as a single unpainted, unassembled resin miniature, the Cybernetic Allosaur is a statement piece for any serious collector, converter or display painter.
The Cybernetic Allosaur rewards a two-tone approach that plays the warm organic reptile skin against the cold hard metallics of its industrial battle armour, creating genuine visual drama across every viewing angle.
1. Prime
- Prime grey overall to preserve mid-tone detail across both the organic skin texture and the armour plating surfaces, making it easier to push both warm and cold tones in opposite directions from a neutral base.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat armour plates in Leadbelcher or Ironbreaker for a hard industrial steel look, or alternatively Abaddon Black built up to Eshin Grey for a more sinister blackened war-plate appearance.
- Edge highlight armour panels with Stormhost Silver or Administratum Grey along sharp ridges, bolt heads and panel joins to define the mechanical components against the organic body beneath.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint the reptile hide in deep olive greens such as Castellan Green built up through Loren Forest to Straken Green, or alternatively a desert ochre scheme using Zandri Dust highlighted with Ushabti Bone for an arid predator aesthetic.
- Wash the entire hide with Athonian Camoshade or Agrax Earthshade and apply Nuln Oil into all armour recesses, rivets and joint gaps to unify and deepen both surfaces.
4. Weapons
- Paint rotary cannons and heavy weapon barrels in dark iron using Leadbelcher washed heavily with Nuln Oil, then highlight barrel ends with Runefang Steel.
- Add heat-staining on gun muzzles using a thin glaze of Fuegan Orange fading into Guilliman Flesh toward the breech for a well-used battlefield weapon effect.
5. Weathering
- Sponge battle damage across all armour panels using torn blister foam loaded with Abaddon Black then Ironbreaker, concentrating chipping on leading edges, knee guards and flank shield faces.
- Apply rust streaks beneath rivets using thinned Doombull Brown and add pale dust pigment to lower legs, clawed feet and tail to suggest the beast charging through arid wasteland terrain.
6. Bases
- A cracked desert wasteland base suits this model perfectly: coarse texture paste drybrushed in Zandri Dust and Ushabti Bone, with scattered broken rockcrete rubble, crushed skull fragments and sparse dead scrub tufts completing the war-ravaged wilderness aesthetic.
