Cursebound - Plague Bosses is a set of seven imposing physical resin miniatures from the Cursebound Vol-2: Void Plague collection by Sultry Miniatures, delivered ready to assemble and paint. Each figure has been expertly printed, supports removed, and cleaned so you can get straight to the hobby bench.
Supplied unpainted.
This squad of seven includes a hulking armoured brute with a skull-faced visage and reinforced plate, a horned demonic warrior wielding an enormous serrated polearm, a slender horned temptress wreathed in tentacles, a wild-haired necromantic caster brandishing a skull-topped staff, a cloaked assassin mid-strike, a horrific hunched grotesque with elongated claws and a split jaw, and a robed plague entity oozing corruption. Every model drips with dark fantasy detail, from cracked stone bases to organic growths and corrupted armour plating. Scale is approximately 32mm heroic, making them fully compatible with a wide range of popular skirmish and roleplaying game systems.
The sculpting quality on each Cursebound piece reflects a high level of artistry, with deep recesses for washes, sharp edges for drybrushing, and crisp surface textures throughout. Whether used as boss encounters, elite champions, or centrepiece models, these seven figures will dominate any table they appear on.
Painting Guide: Cursebound - Plague BossesThe following guide is designed for intermediate painters looking to bring out the grimdark character of each model in this Cursebound set.
1. Prime
- Apply a zenithal prime using a dark grey or black base coat followed by a light grey or off-white spray from above to establish natural shadow and highlight points.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat heavy armour panels in a deep charcoal or oxidised iron tone such as Vallejo Dark Prussian Blue or Citadel Leadbelcher thinned with a touch of black.
- For the large brute, add a sickly greenish tint to the belly plate to suggest corruption seeping through the metal.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out spikes, rivets, and raised trim in a tarnished gold or corroded bronze, then apply a green or brown wash into recesses for an aged, plague-touched look.
- Paint organic growths and tentacles in a sickly pale flesh tone, shading with diluted Carroburg Crimson or a purple wash for a bruised, infected appearance.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the serrated polearm blade in a dark steel, then edge highlight with a bright silver, leaving chips and scratches to suggest battle wear.
- Add spot rust effects using stippled orange-brown near the base of blades and axe edges.
5. Weathering
- Apply a thin overall wash of Agrax Earthshade or a dark brown wash across all armour and organic surfaces to unify tones and deepen recesses.
- Use a sponge or stippling brush to add chipped paint effects in dark grey over armour panels, then re-highlight raised edges in silver.
6. Bases
- Paint stone swirl bases and cracked ground in a cool grey, wash with Nuln Oil, then drybrush with a pale stone colour. Add wet gloss medium to suggest corrupted liquid pooling around feet for an atmospheric void plague effect.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
