The Chonky Flyaz are a squad of three hulking, airborne brutes riding roaring jet-thrust rigs into the thick of battle, and this Skyborne Warband Kit gives you everything you need to field them on the tabletop. Each model stands approximately 88mm tall on its base, which measures 69x103mm, and arrives as a physical resin miniature with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint. With 42 parts across the squad, each figure offers satisfying assembly and genuine character.

Sculpted with gloriously over-the-top detail, every member of the warband carries the hallmarks of brutal orkoid engineering: spinning rotor blades bolted to improvised backpacks, chunky hoses and gauges crammed onto iron frames, skull motifs stamped across every surface, and massive arm-mounted weapons that defy any rational understanding of aerodynamics. The bases depict the smoke and debris cloud of a low-altitude arrival, giving the whole squad a dynamic sense of momentum straight out of the box.

This kit is designed for collectors and wargamers who love grimdark sci-fi factions built on scavenged tech, overwhelming firepower, and sheer audacity. The Chonky Flyaz work brilliantly as a standalone warband centrepiece or as part of a larger horde force. At this scale and with this level of sculptural detail, they will stand out in any collection.

Each model ships fully cast in high-quality resin, cleaned and ready for assembly. Superglue is recommended for joining parts. Painting and basing materials are sold separately.

Painting Guide: Chonky Flyaz – Skyborne Warband Kit

The Chonky Flyaz reward a bold, high-contrast paint scheme that reflects their chaotic, cobbled-together aesthetic. Work from dark to light and embrace weathering from the very first stages.

1. Prime

  • Apply a black or dark grey spray primer across all surfaces, ensuring coverage inside recesses and under the rotor assemblies.
  • Follow with a zenithal highlight of grey or white from above to establish a natural light source before any colour is applied.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the skin in a deep olive green, building up to a mid green on raised muscle groups.
  • Paint armour plates in dark iron or gunmetal, keeping the tones cold and industrial.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out pipes, hoses, and mechanical connectors in a brass or bronze tone to break up the metal surfaces.
  • Apply a small quantity of a bright accent colour, such as red or yellow, to warning stripes or skull icons for visual interest.

4. Weapons

  • Drybrush gun barrels and blade edges with bright silver to suggest heavy use and worn metal.
  • Add OSL (object source lighting) in orange or yellow around exhaust ports and energy coils if you want a more advanced finish.

5. Weathering

  • Wash the entire model with a dark brown or black shade to deepen recesses and add grime.
  • Stipple rust tones onto armour edges and mechanical joints, then seal with a matte varnish to unify the finish.

6. Bases

  • The cast-in smoke cloud bases look excellent in off-white and light grey, drybrushed upward, with the ground debris painted in stone and brown tones to contrast the model above.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
