Castellan the Pure is a commanding 32mm physical resin miniature, sculpted for grimdark sci-fi wargaming and display collections. This battle-worn commander stands with authority, aiming a heavy revolver pistol while carrying a cylindrical device in his off hand. He wears layered combat armour over a long coat, adorned with a skull belt buckle and a flowing cape that billows behind him. A bionic eye implant and a short beard give him a seasoned, world-weary character that fits perfectly into any grimdark Imperium-inspired force.

The miniature arrives as a physical resin cast, with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned. It is ready to assemble if needed and prime for painting straight out of the box. The sculpt by DakkaDakka captures fine detail across every surface, from the rivets on his pauldrons to the texture of his coat fabric and the subtle mechanical detail of his bionic eye. At 32mm foot to eye, he fits standard infantry bases and scale conventions used across most major grimdark wargaming systems.

Castellan the Pure suits a wide range of roles on the tabletop. Use him as a senior officer, inquisitorial agent, or veteran commander leading your forces into the dark corners of a dying galaxy. His pose is dynamic without being overstated, making him equally suitable as a centrepiece character or a named leader in a larger warband.

Each unit is sold individually as a single-model squad. This is a collector-grade resin miniature intended for experienced hobbyists who appreciate high-fidelity sculpting and strong narrative design.

Painting Guide: Castellan the Pure

This guide is designed to help you bring Castellan the Pure to life with a grimdark palette that suits his veteran character and imposing silhouette.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer to seal the resin and provide a strong adhesion surface for all subsequent layers.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour plates with a deep slate grey or cold steel tone to emphasise the industrial, utilitarian quality of his equipment.
  • Apply a second lighter drybrush pass on raised edges to begin separating the armour panels visually.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out rivets, trim, and mechanical details on the pauldrons and belt fittings with a warm gold or aged bronze to add contrast against the grey armour.
  • Paint the skull motif on the belt buckle with off-white or bone, then shade with a brown wash to dirty it down.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the revolver pistol in dark gunmetal, then drybrush lightly with a bright silver to suggest wear on high-contact surfaces.
  • Paint the cylindrical device in a contrasting dark olive or deep red to differentiate it from the firearm and add visual interest to the left hand.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a thinned dark brown or black wash across all recesses to deepen shadows and unify the colour palette.
  • Use a fine brush to stipple chipped paint effects on the armour edges using a mid-grey, then add a thin line of silver below each chip to simulate metal showing through.

6. Bases

  • Texture the base with fine grit or texture paste, then paint in dark ash grey. Drybrush with pale stone and add a few tufts of dead grass to reinforce the bleak, war-torn setting appropriate for Castellan the Pure.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
