The Canadian Space Knight is a single, imposing 32mm resin miniature that arrives ready to assemble and paint, presenting the kind of commanding presence that earns it a place as the centrepiece of any honourable warrior force. Broad-shouldered and encased in heavily ornamented power armour, this figure carries every hallmark of a storied champion: a spiked halo bearing a phoenix crest crowns the helm, a deeply engraved chest eagle spreads across the breastplate, and an ornate tabard carved with layered feathers and maple leaves flows down between armoured greaves. In one gauntleted fist the knight grips a long-hafted power axe wrapped in braided cord, its wide blade reinforced with bolted plating and a side-mounted spike. The other hand holds a compact sidearm, ready for close engagement. Thick braided ropes drape across the pauldrons and fall as a heavy cape behind, adding texture and weight to a silhouette that already commands the table.
Supplied unpainted.
Every surface rewards careful brushwork. The tabard, the helm, the weapon and the base all carry fine-relief detail that responds well to washes and drybrushing alike, giving painters of every experience level plenty to work with. Sculpted by Atlan Forge, this miniature sits within a growing range of highly detailed 32mm resin figures built for wargamers who want their characters to look as formidable as they play. Supports have been removed and the piece has been cleaned, so it is ready to prime straight from the packaging.
As a single-character release, the Canadian Space Knight suits a command role, a named hero slot, or a standalone display piece. The sculpt is designed for 32mm scale and fits standard round bases.
Painting Guide: Canadian Space KnightThe palette below leans into a classic red and gold ceremonial armour scheme with cold steel weapons, inspired by the heraldic detailing already built into the sculpt. Adjust freely to suit your existing force colours.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or white spray primer across the whole model.
- A zenithal highlight in white from above will help pre-shade recesses before paint is applied.
2. Armour Base
- Base coat all armour panels in a deep red such as Mephiston Red or equivalent.
- Layer up with a brighter red towards raised edges, then shade the recesses with a dark brown wash to define panels.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint all trim, halo spikes, and eagle motifs in a rich gold basecoat, then wash with a brown ink to bring out the engraving.
- Edge highlight the gold with a pale brass or bright gold to make the relief carving pop.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the axe blade and sidearm in a dark metallic such as Leadbelcher or Iron Hands Steel.
- Wash with a diluted black ink, then highlight the raised edges with a brighter silver for a worn, functional look.
5. Weathering
- Apply thin scratches and chips across armour panels using a sponge or fine brush loaded with dark brown, followed by a silver sliver on the upper edge of each chip.
- Streak diluted brown and orange washes down vertical surfaces to suggest field wear and environmental grime.
6. Bases
- Drybrush the rocky base in successive layers of dark grey, mid grey, and off-white to match the rubble sculpted onto the integrated base, then add tufts or lichen for contrast.
