Balbina - Human Witch - 32mm Resin Miniature

Balbina is a finely sculpted 32mm resin miniature depicting a human witch in a dynamic, playful pose, her wide-brimmed hat tilted and her flowing curls cascading past her shoulders. She holds a gnarled broomstick at her side and balances on one leg, giving her silhouette a sense of mischievous motion. The sculpt captures every strand of hair, every fold of her layered skirt, and the fine texture of her bandaged stockings with exceptional clarity.

The following guide is designed to help hobbyists of all skill levels bring Balbina to life with a warm, autumnal palette that suits her witchy aesthetic. Work in thin layers throughout to preserve the fine sculpted detail.

1. Prime

• Apply a zenithal prime using black from below and white or light grey from above to establish natural shading before any colour is applied.

2. Armour Base

• Basecoat the dress and hat with Leather Brown or Zandri Dust for a warm, earthy tone.
• Apply Rakarth Flesh to the skin areas, keeping coverage thin so underlying shading shows through.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out the belt, buckle clasp, and hat band in a deep bronze or Gehenna's Gold for contrast.
• Paint the bandaged stockings with off-white, then wash with Seraphim Sepia to add age and texture.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat the broomstick with Mournfang Brown, then drybrush lightly with Ushabti Bone to raise the wood grain.
• Paint the bristle end with Rhinox Hide and stipple in Skrag Brown to suggest dry, worn straw.

5. Weathering

• Apply a diluted brown wash across the whole figure to unify tones and deepen recesses.
• Lightly drybrush raised edges of the dress and hat with a lighter version of the base colour to restore highlights after washing.

6. Bases

• Drybrush the stone base with Administratum Grey over a Mechanicus Standard Grey basecoat, then paint the bone fragment with Ushabti Bone and wash with Agrax Earthshade for a weathered finish.
