Forgotten Champions brings you Balbina, a Human Witch who strides through the arcane wastes with dangerous confidence, her wide-brimmed hat casting shadows over a face half-hidden behind a raised hand. Sculpted by Haito, this 32mm resin miniature captures a spellcaster mid-stride, one leg raised as she grips her gnarled broomstick like a weapon rather than a vessel.
Balbina is no academic conjurer. Her layered skirt, skull-adorned belt, and fishnet stockings speak of a practitioner who has walked the edge of forbidden knowledge and come back changed. The flowing curls tumbling from beneath her pointed hat and the coiling tail hint at a pact made in shadows, while her rocky base scattered with bones tells the story of those who stood in her way.
As part of the Forgotten Champions range, this model is designed for collectors, skirmish wargamers, and tabletop RPG players who demand character in every detail. The sculpt is delivered in high-resolution resin, capturing every textured stocking wrap, every strand of windswept hair, and the twisted wood grain of her broom with exceptional clarity.
Whether leading a warband of magic users or standing alone as a villain centrepiece, Balbina delivers presence on the tabletop that few Forgotten Champions models can match. Supplied unpainted and unassembled. Suitable for ages 15 and over. Contains small parts.
Painting Guide: Balbina - Human WitchThis guide will help you bring Balbina to life with a dark, atmospheric palette that fits the grimdark tone of the Forgotten Champions collection. Focus on warm shadows and cold highlights to emphasise her otherworldly nature.
1. Prime
- Apply a zenithal prime using black at the base and bone white from above to define shadow and light before any colour is applied
2. Armour Base
- Base coat the dress and hat in Zandri Dust, then layer with Ushabti Bone for raised areas
- Apply a wash of Seraphim Sepia across all fabric to deepen the folds and add warmth
3. Trim and Details
- Paint the skull belt buckle and bone details with Screaming Skull, shaded with Agrax Earthshade
- Use Screamer Pink highlighted up to Emperor's Children for any arcane sigil accents or gem details
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the broomstick with Rhinox Hide, drybrush with Karak Stone to bring out the wood grain texture
- Add subtle OSL glow on broom bristle tips using thinned Hexos Palesun to suggest latent magical energy
5. Weathering
- Stipple Typhus Corrosion lightly onto boot soles and broom base for a worn, travelled look
- Use thinned Nihilakh Oxide on any metal clasps or buckles to suggest age and neglect
6. Bases
- Drybrush the rocky base with Administratum Grey over a Mechanicus Standard Grey basecoat, add Mordheim Turf tufts and a small skull painted in Ushabti Bone to tie back to Balbina's aesthetic
