Built low and wide on reinforced track assemblies, the Arctodus Tank carries an impressive array of weaponry across its hull. The primary turret mounts a heavy cannon alongside secondary weapon emplacements, while sponson-mounted guns provide overlapping fields of fire on both flanks. A compact command cupola sits atop the turret, bristling with sensor equipment and a pintle weapon. The Arctodus Tank is supplied as a multi-part resin kit. Minor assembly using super glue is required. Resin is a hard, fine-detail material. Light sanding of join surfaces is recommended before gluing. As with all resin miniatures, washing in warm soapy water before priming is advised to remove any residual release agent and ensure paint adhesion.

The following guide offers a practical approach to painting your Arctodus Tank to a strong tabletop standard, with optional steps to push it toward display quality.

1. Prime

• Wash the assembled model in warm soapy water and allow to dry fully before priming.
• Apply a grey or black spray primer in thin, even coats. Grey primer is ideal if you plan lighter armour tones. Black suits darker, battle-worn schemes.

2. Armour Base

• For a dark military scheme, basecoat all armour panels in a deep olive drab, slate grey, or dark green using a large flat brush or airbrush.
• Apply a second lighter tone to upper surfaces and raised panels to establish a basic zenithal highlight before shading.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out hatches, sensor lenses, and mechanical components in a contrasting metal such as gunmetal or dark silver.
• Paint any tactical markings, insignia panels, or vision blocks in a spot colour to add visual interest and break up large armour surfaces.

4. Weapons

• Basecoat all gun barrels and sponson weapons in a dark steel tone, then drybrush lightly with bright silver to bring out the cylindrical forms.

5. Weathering

• Apply a dark brown or black wash into all recesses, panel lines, and around track assemblies to deepen shadows and add grime.
• Use a sponge or fine brush to stipple chipping effects along armour edges in a dark brown followed by a small highlight of bright metal.
• Add dust effects to lower hull and track units using pigment powders in sand or earth tones, fixed with a matte varnish.

6. Bases

• Finish the base with texture paste or fine grit, painted in earth tones and drybrushed to match your gaming board aesthetic.
