The Aegyptian Velox Dreadnought is a commanding resin miniature that fuses ancient desert-kingdom iconography with imposing powered armour, resulting in a centrepiece-worthy figure built for serious hobbyists and wargamers alike. Standing at approximately 60-70mm to the top of its twin dorsal fins, this heavy-armoured warrior arrives as a physical resin kit with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready for assembly and painting.

The sculpt is rich with character throughout. The chest plate bears a raised scarab-and-wing relief, while the rounded eye symbol at the centre of the large circular shield immediately evokes an ancient, esoteric aesthetic. Skull motifs appear across the pauldrons, shield border, and gauntlet, adding menace to every angle. The curved, serrated blade carried in the right hand has a fluid, organic quality that contrasts beautifully with the angular armour panelling. A large spherical sensor array rises from the back housing, flanked by rectangular antenna fins that give the silhouette real presence on any gaming table.

Multiple weapon loadout options are shown across the product images, including a blade-and-shield configuration and a twin-cannon variant, making this a versatile addition to a wide range of grimdark sci-fi collections.

The model ships as a multi-part physical resin miniature. Light assembly with superglue is required. Priming before painting is strongly recommended. Supplied unpainted.

Painting Guide: Aegyptian Velox Dreadnought – Modular Resin Miniature

The colour schemes shown in the product renders use neutral grey to highlight the sculpt detail. Below is a recommended painting approach inspired by the ancient desert-kingdom theme of the Aegyptian Velox Dreadnought.

1. Prime

  • Use a grey or white spray primer for bright, vivid colours, or black spray for a darker, more battle-worn finish.
  • Ensure all recesses are reached before moving to base coats.

2. Armour Base

  • Apply a deep ivory or off-white such as Wraithbone or Pallid Wych Flesh across all major armour plates.
  • Alternatively, a bone-yellow tone like Ushabti Bone gives instant warmth and age to the model.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out panel edging, the chest relief, and shield symbol in a rich gold, such as Retributor Armour or Vallejo Gold.
  • Shade the gold areas with a brown or sepia wash to knock back the brightness and add depth.

4. Weapons

  • Base the blade in a dark silver such as Leadbelcher, then edge highlight with Stormhost Silver for a sharp finish.
  • Add a subtle OSL glow in teal or amber to the sensor dome on the back housing for a tech-alive feel.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple chipped areas with a dark brown base colour using a torn blister foam piece for a naturalistic battle-worn look.
  • Apply a thin oil paint wash of raw umber over the whole model, then wipe raised surfaces to leave pigment only in recesses.

6. Bases

  • A sandstone tile or cracked desert floor base complements the Aegyptian aesthetic perfectly, achieved with texture paste, sand, and dry-brushed ochre over a brown undercoat.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
