The 2nd Death Division Commander Squad brings iron-willed authority to your grimdark sci-fi warband, arriving as a set of five finely detailed physical resin miniatures, supports already removed and ready to assemble and paint. Each figure stands approximately 30mm from feet to eyes, capturing the grim authority of veteran officers clad in long greatcoats, heavy respirator helms, and layered combat armour. The squad includes a standard bearer carrying a skull-topped regimental banner, a commanding officer wielding a power sword alongside a sidearm, and three additional troopers armed with combat rifles and pistols in varied aggressive poses. Every detail tells a story of relentless discipline and hard-fought campaigns.
The 2nd Death Division Commander Squad is ideal for use as command units, special operatives, or elite troop leaders across a wide range of grimdark sci-fi tabletop wargames. The five unique sculpts offer visual variety within a coherent aesthetic, making them easy to rank up on the battlefield or display as individual centrepiece models. Each miniature has been printed in high-quality resin and cleaned to remove support marks, ensuring you spend your time painting rather than preparing.
These models are supplied without bases in some poses and with oval or round bases where shown. Assembly glue is recommended for any multi-part elements. Miniatures are unpainted and supplied in raw grey resin, ready for priming.
Painting Guide: 2nd Death Division Commander Squad x 5 - Sci-Fi Wargaming MiniaturesThis guide will help you bring the 2nd Death Division Commander Squad to life with a battle-worn, authoritative look suited to a grimdark sci-fi setting.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer to all five models, ensuring full coverage in recessed areas such as coat folds and armour joints.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the greatcoats and armour plates with a cold grey or dark olive tone to suggest worn, campaign-hardened kit.
- Apply a mid-tone highlight along raised edges and coat hems to create depth across the large flat surfaces.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out buckles, straps, and respirator fittings with a dark bronze or gunmetal to contrast the coat colours.
- Paint the banner fabric with a pale bone or aged linen tone, then add freehand symbols or wash over it for a weathered look.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat rifles and pistols with a dark steel or black metallic, then drybrush lightly with silver to suggest worn metal.
- Paint the power sword blade with a layered electric blue, building up from a dark navy base to a bright ice-blue edge.
5. Weathering
- Apply a brown or black wash across all armour and coat surfaces to deepen recesses and unify the colour palette.
- Use a sponge or stippling technique with a dark rust colour on armour edges to suggest chipped paint and battlefield wear.
6. Bases
- Texture the bases with fine sand or grit, paint dark grey, and drybrush with a pale stone tone. Add tufts or small debris to reinforce the grimdark aesthetic.
