Sci-fi warfare reaches its apex with the Warmaster Keengaze, a towering battlesuit commander designed for close-quarters dominance and long-range suppression alike. This physical resin miniature arrives fully cast, supports already removed, and cleaned ready for assembly and painting. The figure stands approximately 75mm to the top of its back-mounted thrusters, making it an imposing centrepiece for any warband or display collection.
The Warmaster Keengaze is supplied as a multi-part kit, featuring a separately cast torso, head (with optional conical command helm), two arm assemblies, and a scenic rocky base adorned with a hop-plant terrain piece. The right arm carries a long, elegant blade and the left arm mounts a compact ranged weapon, giving the commander a dual-threat silhouette. The sculpt is the work of DakkaDakka, and the detail across the chevron-textured abdominal plating, the coiled shoulder conduits, and the articulated bird-like legs is crisp and well defined throughout.
This sci-fi release suits players and collectors drawn to feudal-inspired mecha aesthetics blended with grimdark industrial hardware. The kit pairs well with other battlesuit infantry to form a command retinue, or stands alone as a painting showcase piece. Each miniature is cast in high-quality grey resin and benefits from careful post-processing before dispatch.
Squad size is a single character model. Assembly requires plastic-compatible super glue. Painting and basing materials are not included.
Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Battlesuit Commander - Warmaster KeengazeThe following guide is written for intermediate painters and covers the colour scheme shown in the studio render, featuring deep crimson armour, pale white secondary panels, and dark metallic trim with blue accent lighting.
1. Prime
- Apply a light grey or white primer to ensure the crimson base coat reads true to tone.
- Ensure all recesses are reached, paying attention to the chevron abdominal panels and the leg joints.
2. Armour Base
- Base coat all primary armour plates with a deep crimson red, applied in two thin coats for even coverage.
- Block in the secondary panels (chest, upper legs) with a off-white or pale bone tone.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint all mechanical joints, conduit piping, and edge trim with a dark steel or iron metallic.
- Pick out the small circular and rectangular vents with a lighter silver highlight to add visual depth.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the blade with a mid-silver and apply a thin directional highlight along the upper edge to suggest a keen, polished finish.
- Paint the ranged weapon housing in the same dark steel as the trim, with a small muzzle glow in pale orange if desired.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black wash into all panel line recesses to define the armour segments and add a battle-worn quality.
- Dry brush the armour edges with a light silver to simulate paint chipping and field damage consistent with a veteran commander.
6. Bases
- Drybrush the rocky base with medium grey followed by an off-white highlight to bring out the stone texture.
- Paint the hop plant foliage in muted greens with a yellow-green edge highlight, keeping the tones natural against the bold armour scheme.
