Forge your Sisterhood of Battle warband with the War Sisters Novice Squad build kit, a fully modular set of 6 highly detailed grimdark sci-fi miniatures sculpted by DakkaDakka. Each sister stands 34mm from feet to eyes, making them perfectly scaled for skirmish and squad-based tabletop wargames.

This build kit contains 32 unique parts, giving you exceptional freedom to customise every warrior in your squad. Choose from 6 distinct body poses, 6 interchangeable heads ranging from masked respirators to hooded faces, and 20 hands and weapons including bolters, chainswords, ornate staves crowned with gothic skulls, and sacred relics draped in parchment banners. No two sisters need look alike.

The aesthetic draws deep from the well of holy militant imagery: fleur-de-lis knee armour, layered robes, devotional chains, and skull iconography mark these warriors as true zealots of a grim future. Whether you are building a battle line, a command unit, or a narrative warband, the Sisterhood of Battle build kit delivers the variety and detail serious hobbyists demand.

Assemble your squad, your faith is your armour.

Painting Guide: War Sisters Novice Squad (build kit)

These tips will help you bring your Sisterhood of Battle novices to life with a striking grimdark finish worthy of the holy militant aesthetic.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey or black zenithal prime to establish strong shadows across the robes and armour panels

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour plates in a deep burgundy red or classic black for a devout militant look
  • Apply a thin coat of matte medium before shading to improve wash control on curved surfaces

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out trim, buckles, and devotional chains in aged gold or tarnished brass
  • Paint fleur-de-lis knee details in bright gold with a sepia wash to add depth

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat bolters and guns in dark gunmetal, then drybrush with silver for a battle-worn finish
  • Paint the ornate skull stave in bone white, shaded with diluted brown ink for an ancient relic feel

5. Weathering

  • Add chipping effects to armour edges using a sponge and dark brown paint
  • Apply a light stipple of rust pigment around boot rims and weapon barrels for a grimdark battlefield aesthetic

6. Bases

  • Finish bases with cracked earth texture paste, a dark brown wash, and a dry brush of pale sand to contrast against the rich armour tones of your Sisterhood of Battle squad
