The War Sisters Novice Squad (build kit) arrives as a squad of 3 physical resin miniatures, sculpted by DakkaDakka and cast in high-detail resin. Supports have already been removed and the parts cleaned, so the kit is ready for assembly and painting straight out of the packaging. Each figure stands 34mm from feet to eyes, capturing the imposing presence of battle-hardened warriors devoted to a merciless faith.

This War Sisters Novice Squad (build kit) is a fully modular multi-part set comprising 32 individual components across 3 figures. You receive 6 interchangeable body variants, 6 head options, and 20 hands and weapons including bolter-style firearms, a chainsword, a thunder hammer arm, reliquary shields, and a towering skull-topped ceremonial staff. The modular design lets you pose and equip each sister to suit your squad composition or personal aesthetic. Fleur-de-lis iconography and baroque armour detailing reinforce the grimdark religious warrior theme throughout every component.

Each figure wears ornate carapace armour layered over flowing robes, with heavily textured knee guards, belt pouches, and draped fabric that reward careful drybrushing and contrast-paint techniques. The variety of weapon loadouts means you can field a balanced squad with ranged, melee, and support options without needing additional conversion work. At 34mm scale these models are compatible with standard 32mm round bases, which are included with each assembled figure.

Sculpted by DakkaDakka, the War Sisters Novice Squad (build kit) is an excellent centrepiece addition to any grimdark religious army collection, equally at home on a display shelf or a competitive tabletop.

Painting Guide: War Sisters Novice Squad (build kit)

Follow this step-by-step guide to bring your squad to life with a classic black and gold devotional colour scheme suited to their grimdark aesthetic.

1. Prime

  • Spray with a black or dark grey primer for a strong shadow base across the robes and armour recesses.
  • Alternatively, zenithal prime with black from below and grey from above to pre-shade the miniature before painting.

2. Armour Base

  • Apply a flat black basecoat such as Abaddon Black or similar to all armour panels.
  • Layer with a very dark grey highlight on raised edges to create subtle depth without losing the dark tone.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out all trim, buckles, and iconography with Retributor Armour or a comparable gold paint.
  • Wash the gold areas with Reikland Fleshshade to deepen recesses and create an aged, battle-worn feel.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat metallic weapons with Leadbelcher and wash with Nuln Oil for a worn steel finish.
  • Paint the ceremonial staff shaft in a deep bone or ivory tone and glaze with a sepia wash to age the surface.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple Rhinox Hide and Typhus Corrosion onto lower armour edges and boot areas to simulate mud and campaign wear.
  • Drybrush Stormhost Silver on blade edges and raised armour corners for a chipped battle-scarred look.

6. Bases

  • Texture paste in a grey-brown tone works well to suggest cathedral flagstone or ruined urban terrain beneath the warriors' feet.
  • Add a thin glaze of Agrax Earthshade around the base rim to blend the texture into the overall scheme.
