This Trench Crusade Style physical resin miniature depicts Tet'o Kr'lieh Matriarch, a towering eldritch figure of corrupted divinity standing 80mm from feet to eyes. She arrives as a 5-part kit with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready to assemble and paint. The sculpt captures a hauntingly powerful presence: a masked, multi-armed matriarch draped in a ragged cloak that dissolves into writhing tentacles at its hem, her outstretched hands clutching a ritual mace and an ornate key-like relic hung with chains and occult symbols.
The level of detail across this miniature is exceptional. Her flowing hair cascades with braided tendrils that merge organically with the tentacles below. Her armoured mask rises to a pointed crown adorned with gemstones, and her exposed torso is adorned with subtle arcane markings. The cloak billows dramatically, its torn edges suggesting centuries of service to something ancient and terrible. This Trench Crusade Style piece fits seamlessly into any grimdark tabletop collection as a centrepiece character, a cult leader, or a powerful independent hero.
The kit consists of 5 separate resin parts: the main body on its 40mm scenic base, two arm/hand options (one holding the mace, one extended), and the separate key relic piece along with small detailing elements for the upper torso area. Assembly requires hobby-grade plastic glue or super glue and is recommended for experienced modellers familiar with multi-part resin kits.
Sculpted by DakkaDakka, this miniature exemplifies the bleak, heretical aesthetic that defines the Trench Crusade Style movement in modern tabletop hobby culture. Whether you are building a warband of the damned or adding a commanding figure to your display shelf, the Tet'o Kr'lieh Matriarch will dominate any setting she inhabits.
Painting Guide: Trench Crusade Style - Tet'o Kr'lieh MatriarchThe painted example uses a cold, desaturated palette of bone white, charcoal grey, and aged gold to give the figure an otherworldly, cursed appearance. The guide below follows this scheme closely.
1. Prime
- Prime the fully assembled or sub-assembled model with a grey primer spray from approximately 30cm distance to preserve fine detail.
- Apply a zenithal highlight with white primer from above to pre-shade the raised surfaces.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the cloak and lower body with a dark grey paint such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or equivalent.
- Apply a black wash across all recesses and let it pool naturally to define the folds and torn edges of the cloak.
3. Trim and Details
- Basecoat the crown, bracers, key relic, and chain details with a rich gold such as Retributor Armour or equivalent.
- Wash the gold areas with a brown or sepia ink to age the metal and pick out the engraved detail of the relic.
4. Weapons
- Paint the mace shaft with a dark steel basecoat, then drybrush lightly with silver to bring up the edges.
- Add subtle rust or verdigris effects to the mace head using a stippled green-brown mix applied sparingly with a torn foam sponge.
5. Weathering
- Apply a thin glaze of pale blue to the skin and tentacle areas to give an inhuman, cold appearance.
- Stipple very light bone colour onto the highest points of the hair and skin for a bleached, withered finish.
6. Bases
- Drybrush the textured base with a mid-grey followed by a light cream to suggest cracked stone or dried mud.
- Add a coat of matte varnish to the whole model to seal and unify the finish, then gloss varnish the eyes only for a subtle focal point.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
