Trench Crusade style infantry arrives in this three-model squad of the Novitiate of "Asesino de tanques", sculpted by DakkaDakka and delivered as physical resin miniatures with supports already removed and cleaned, ready to assemble and paint. These robed, pointed-hood snipers carry long anti-tank rifles and radiate the oppressive, zealot energy of a grimdark holy war waged in the mud and blood of an eternal front line. Each figure measures approximately 34 mm from feet to eyes, giving them a commanding presence on the tabletop.

The squad contains three models sold together as one set, with four separate parts per model for straightforward assembly. Two variants are visible across the images: one set decorated with cross iconography and iron-sighted long rifles, and a second set bearing an eye-of-providence motif with gothic arched detailing on the chest rig, ammunition pouches, and kit box. Both share the same silhouette of heavy robes, a towering conical hood, and an oversized precision weapon that dwarfs the bearer. The sculpt detail is crisp throughout, capturing fabric folds, mechanical bolt actions, and devotional symbols with equal clarity.

This Trench Crusade style unit is ideal for skirmish wargames, narrative campaigns, or display collections centred on a dark theological aesthetic. The robed silhouette and long-barrelled weapon profile make them immediately readable as deadly precision shooters on any battlefield mat or diorama shelf.

Models arrive unprimed and unpainted. Super glue or thin plastic cement is recommended for assembly. A 40 mm round base is included per model.

Painting Guide: Trench Crusade style - Novitiate of "Asesino de tanques"

The following guide helps you achieve a grim, war-worn finish that honours the Trench Crusade style of these zealot snipers. Work in thin layers throughout and allow each stage to dry fully before proceeding.

1. Prime

  • Apply a zenithal prime using a black base coat followed by a light grey mist from above to establish natural shading on the robes and hood.
  • A white highlight spray from directly overhead will pre-shade the raised fabric folds before any colour is applied.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the robes with a pale bone or off-white colour, leaving darker grey in the recesses from the primer layer.
  • Apply a diluted brown or sepia wash over the entire robe surface to push colour into every crease and gather.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out cross icons, eye-of-providence frames, and devotional seals with a warm silver or aged gold.
  • Apply a dark brown wash over metallic details and wipe the raised edges back with a clean brush for a tarnished finish.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the anti-tank rifle barrels and receivers in a dark iron colour, then drybrush with a brighter steel on edges and muzzle surfaces.
  • Paint wooden stock sections, where present, in a deep mahogany brown highlighted with a lighter tan on the grain lines.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple thinned brown and rust tones along robe hems and boot areas to represent mud and sustained field use.
  • Use a small sponge or torn blister foam to dab chipping effects on the rifle chassis and armour plates with a dark grey colour.

6. Bases

  • Texture paste or fine sand applied in a thin layer and painted dark brown, then drybrushed with a pale earth tone, suits the trench warfare theme well.
  • Add small tufts of dead grass or barbed wire scraps for a ruined no-man's-land finish that ties the squad together on the shelf.
