This Trench Crusade style resin miniature depicts a hooded Monk, a solitary figure draped in pale robes, hands pressed together in silent devotion while cradling a wooden reliquary. A grotesque ribcage collar frames the figure, hinting at sacred rites performed in the shadow of endless war. Every fold of cloth and skeletal detail has been sculpted with remarkable precision, making this a striking centrepiece or support piece for any grimdark warband.
The model arrives as a single physical resin miniature, supports already removed and ready to assemble and paint. It is cast on a 32mm round base, keeping it compatible with most popular skirmish rulesets. The sculpt captures the unsettling devotion of a battlefield cleric, equal parts reverent and horrifying, ideal for collectors drawn to the Trench Crusade style of gothic, WWI-inspired horror.
Whether you are building a themed warband or adding a character piece to your display shelf, this model rewards careful brushwork. The deep hood, textured robes, and bone detailing offer plenty of surface variation to explore with contrast paints, washes, and layering techniques.
Scale: 32mm base. One model per order. Supplied unpainted.
Painting Guide: Trench Crusade style - MonkThis guide will help you bring the pale, wretched devotion of this Trench Crusade style figure to life using contrast, wash, and layering methods.
1. Prime
- Apply a light grey or off-white spray primer to preserve the pale robes and bone details.
- Ensure all recesses are coated before moving on.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the robes with a pale bone or ivory tone such as Wraithbone or Ushabti Bone.
- Apply a thin coat of Skeleton Horde contrast paint over the robes to define folds quickly.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint the ribcage collar and bone elements with a light grey, then wash with Agrax Earthshade for depth.
- Drybrush lightly with white to pick out raised bone surfaces.
4. Weapons
- Paint the wooden reliquary with Rhinox Hide, then drybrush Mournfang Brown for a worn timber effect.
- Add a light wash of Nuln Oil to deepen the grain texture.
5. Weathering
- Stipple diluted Agrax Earthshade at the hem of the robes to suggest mud and grime from the trenches.
- Use a fine brush to add small rust or blood spots to the bone collar for a battlefield-worn feel.
6. Bases
- Texture the base with a mud paste or fine sand, paint dark brown, then drybrush with a pale sand tone to suggest churned battlefield earth.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
