Trench Crusade style resin miniatures arrive as a fully physical, pre-printed build kit ready for assembly and painting. This Conquistadors Build Kit contains 46 parts across 3 body frames, 5 head options, 36 weapon-bearing hands and a wide selection of melee and ranged arms, giving you the flexibility to create a small squad of grimdark soldiers clad in layered, buckled armour with gas-masked visors and wide-brimmed plague-era helms. Figures measure 32 to 33 mm from feet to eyes, fitting standard wargame bases.
Each model body is cast in high-detail grey resin with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move straight to assembly with plastic or super glue. Weapon options span short swords, curved blades, round shields, halberds, long rifles, blunderbuss-style firearms and pistols, letting you build dedicated melee fighters, line infantry and command figures from a single kit. The sculpts carry a distinctly Trench Crusade style aesthetic, blending late-renaissance plate with oppressive, industrial war-gear for a truly sinister battlefield presence.
The kit is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Parts are cast by DakkaDakka and scaled to work alongside other 32 mm scale infantry. With 30 unique part sculpts available across the sprue layout, no two models need look alike. Whether you are building a patrol of five or a full regiment, this kit provides enough variety to keep every soldier visually distinct and thematically cohesive.
Supplied as grey resin components. Glue and paint are not included. Some minimal tidying of contact points may be needed before assembly.
Painting Guide: Trench Crusade style - Conquistadors Build KitThe following steps will help you achieve a grim, war-worn finish that suits the Trench Crusade style of these Conquistadors perfectly.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer to all assembled components.
- Allow to cure fully for at least one hour before applying any paint.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the plate armour in a dark steel grey such as Leadbelcher or equivalent.
- Apply a second thin coat to ensure full, even coverage on all recessed panels.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out buckles, straps and belts with a warm brown leather tone.
- Paint mask filters, goggle lenses and small mechanical details with a deep brass or burnished gold.
4. Weapons
- Drybrush sword blades and spear tips with a bright silver to suggest honed edges.
- Paint wooden hafts and gun stocks with a dark oak brown, highlighted with a lighter tan on raised grain lines.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black wash across the entire model to deepen shadows and define panel lines.
- Sponge or stipple patches of rust orange onto armour edges and lower leg plates to suggest prolonged trench exposure.
6. Bases
- Texture the base with a mixture of sand, fine grit and PVA, then paint in a muddy grey-brown. Add tufts of dead grass or scraps of barbed wire for a battlefield feel.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
