Torquemada's Priest is a brooding, robed inquisitor figure cast in high-detail resin, supplied as a physical miniature ready to assemble and paint. Standing 34mm from feet to eyes, this sinister holy warrior combines the iconography of a medieval plague doctor with the grim aesthetic of a far-future crusade. A wide-brimmed hat sits above a sealed respirator mask fitted with segmented tubes, while a long buttoned coat and layered cape drape the figure in clerical authority. A cross pendant hangs at the chest, and a blade is gripped at rest in gauntleted hands. The rear of the figure reveals a utility belt with pouches and a compact sidearm holstered at the hip.
Sculpted by DakkaDakka, this miniature is sold as a single figure. Supports have already been removed and the piece has been cleaned and sanded where needed. It arrives ready for assembly where applicable and then straight onto the painting desk. This is a physical resin cast, not a digital file.
Torquemada's Priest makes an ideal character model for grimdark crusade warbands, inquisitorial retinues, or any sci-fi skirmish force that leans into themes of fanaticism and holy authority. The level of sculpted detail rewards careful brushwork and sits well alongside 32mm and 35mm scale collections.
Whether you are building a warband centred on zealotry or simply want a striking display piece, Torquemada's Priest delivers a unique silhouette and rich surface detail that painters of all skill levels will enjoy working on.
Painting Guide: Torquemada's Priest - Grimdark Crusade MiniaturesThe following guide is designed to help you bring this grimdark cleric to life with a palette suited to its sinister religious aesthetic.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer to capture all the recessed detail across the robes and mask.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the long coat and cape in a mid-grey or desaturated bone tone to evoke worn ceremonial vestments.
- Paint the armoured gloves and boot areas in a dark iron or charcoal grey.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the cross pendant and any gilt trim with a brass or aged gold basecoat, then wash with a brown shade to dull the shine.
- Paint the respirator tubes and filtration canisters in a dark bronze or oxidised copper tone.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the blade in a dark steel, then edge highlight with a lighter silver along the cutting edge.
- For the holstered sidearm, use gunmetal with a sepia wash to add age and grime.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black wash across the entire robe to settle into the folds and add depth to the fabric texture.
- Stipple or drybrush a lighter grey over raised areas of the coat to suggest worn fabric and trail dust.
6. Bases
- Finish with a cracked earth or flagstone texture paste to ground the figure in a ruined cathedral or underhive setting, then drybrush with pale stone and add spot details such as rust streaks or dried blood.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
