The Thornsinger is a 75mm resin miniature sculpted by Print Fantasy, arriving as a physical, pre-printed figure with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. Drawing on the primal fury of nature magic, this striking druid figure channels wild power through every detail of her pose, clawed fingers outstretched, hair and cloak surging as though caught in a supernatural gale, thorned vines curling at her feet.
Standing at an imposing 75mm, The Thornsinger is a centrepiece-scale model packed with surface detail: layered bark-and-leaf armour, ornate belt fittings, flowing robes split by thorned growth, and small botanical accents woven through her hair. The dynamic stance captures a moment of raw magical release, making her equally suited to display cabinets or as a focal hero in skirmish or narrative wargames.
The sculpt is the work of Print Fantasy, known for highly expressive, heroic-scale fantasy figures that reward careful brushwork at every scale. Each copy of The Thornsinger ships as a physical resin miniature, individually checked before dispatch. Minor assembly may be required for fine extending elements such as the flowing cloak or vine tendrils.
Whether you are building a nature-themed warband or adding a powerful solo centrepiece to your collection, The Thornsinger delivers exceptional detail and dramatic presence in a single figure.
Painting Guide: The Thornsinger
The palette below leans into deep forest tones contrasted with eerie bioluminescent accents, reflecting the untamed and slightly threatening energy of The Thornsinger's nature magic aesthetic.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or off-white zenithal prime to preserve the fine surface detail and establish natural light and shadow across the figure before layering colour.
2. Armour Base
- Base the bark-plate armour in a deep brown such as Rhinox Hide, then drybrush up through Mournfang Brown and Karak Stone to pick out raised edges.
- Add a thinned green wash over recesses to suggest moss and living wood growth embedded in the armour plates.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint leaf and botanical trim in Caliban Green, highlighted through Warpstone Glow up to Moot Green at the very tips for a vivid, living contrast against the dark armour.
- Work small floral accents in Screaming Skull or pale ivory to provide delicate focal points among the foliage detailing.
4. Weapons
- Paint vine tendrils and thorn growths in Dark Angels Green basecoat, shaded with Agrax Earthshade, then edge-highlighted with a mix of Straken Green and white.
- Fingertip claws can be done in bone tones fading to dark grey at the tips to suggest hardened natural keratin.
5. Weathering
- Apply a stippled texture of Nurgle's Rot or a clear gloss medium into the deepest recesses of the robes and vine work to suggest damp, forest-floor moisture.
- Lightly sponge chipped texture onto armour edges using a torn blister foam dipped in a mix of black and brown to suggest bark splitting under magical strain.
6. Bases
- Build up the scenic base with texture paste in earthy tones, add tufts of static grass and small leaf litter, and finish with a thin gloss coat on exposed root surfaces to imply wet woodland ground.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy, not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
