The Alcat Rats Veterans Brigade arrives as a set of ten physical resin miniatures, each standing 29mm from feet to eyes, cast in clean grey resin with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready to assemble and paint straight from the box.
This is a seasoned squad of grimdark special operatives, worn in by long campaigns and equipped for every kind of firefight. The roster includes a rocket launcher trooper with a goggled respirator mask, a cloaked sniper locked into a firing stance, a kneeling vox operator with a backpack communications unit, a sergeant raising a fist with a heavy stubber at his hip, and a goggled gunner in a reinforced helmet bracing a compact auto-weapon. Each figure carries its role in its posture and its kit, from taped ammunition pouches to scuffed knee guards and layered flak weave.
Sculpted by DakkaDakka, these figures bring strong silhouettes and crisp surface detail that rewards careful brush work at every stage from basecoat to final highlight.
The set includes modular parts so you can customise loadouts and poses across the squad, giving you control over how the finished unit looks on the table. Ten models in total, all cast in grey resin, supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Alcat Rats Veterans Brigade is a full ten-model squad, built for anyone running veteran infantry in a grimdark sci-fi setting.
Painting Guide: The Alcat Rats Veterans Brigade (x10)These operatives suit a worn, field-dirty palette built around sandy tans, olive greens, and dark metal. Work in thin layers and let washes do the heavy lifting across the armour panels and clothing folds.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or bone spray primer for a neutral mid-tone base that works well under both the tan clothing and the green trousers.
- Check for any recesses that need a second pass before moving forward.
2. Armour Base
- Block in the flak armour panels and padded coat sections with a muted tan or buff, such as Zandri Dust or Rakarth Flesh.
- Paint the trousers and soft armour elements in an olive or military green, such as Castellan Green or Death World Forest.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out goggle lenses in red, leaving a small white spot highlight to suggest reflection.
- Paint communications units, pouches, and straps in a dark brown or khaki to separate them from the main body colour.
4. Weapons
- Base all weapons in Leadbelcher or a dark gunmetal, then wash with Nuln Oil to settle the tone.
- Edge highlight with Ironbreaker on raised barrel edges and trigger guards for a used but maintained look.
5. Weathering
- Apply a thinned brown wash such as Agrax Earthshade across the armour panels, clothing, and boots to suggest campaign dirt and wear.
- Drybrush boot soles and knee pads with a light grey or pale bone to read as scuffed resin and worn material.
6. Bases
- Texture paste in a grey urban rubble or sandy desert mix suits the squad's aesthetic. Finish with a dark brown wash and a pale drybrush before adding static grass or grit for variety across the ten bases.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
