Forgotten Champions brings you Sid the Guardian, a towering giant warrior sculpted with extraordinary detail by Haito. Standing as one of the most imposing figures in any warband, Sid dominates the battlefield with a sweeping curved blade in one hand and a barbed spear raised high in the other, ready to crush whatever stands in his path.
Clad in heavy plate armour adorned with a heart sigil across the chest, Sid wears layered pauldrons, a studded belt, and a tattered fur-trimmed coat that speaks to years of brutal campaign. His visored helmet seals away any mercy behind cold iron. Every surface tells a story of endurance and slaughter, from the cross-strap harness on his back to the skulls crushed beneath his boots on the base.
This single-model kit is ideal for use as a boss encounter, elite heavy, or warband centrepiece. Sculpted by Haito for the Forgotten Champions range, this miniature sits at an impressive scale appropriate to a giant-class fighter, standing approximately 60mm to the top of the raised weapon. The round base is approximately 60mm in diameter.
Supplied as a high-quality resin miniature. Requires assembly and painting. Not suitable for children under 15 years.
Painting Guide: Sid the Guardian - GiantSid rewards a grimdark approach. Heavy washes, selective edge highlights, and brutal weathering will bring this Forgotten Champions centrepiece to life on the tabletop.
1. Prime
- Prime with a grey or black spray to preserve deep shadow in recesses
- Consider a zenithal highlight with white or light grey from above to pre-shade the armour
2. Armour Base
- Apply a mid-tone grey or cold steel base across all plate surfaces
- Use a dark brown wash across the entire model to unify tones and deepen recesses
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the belt buckle, chest sigil, and strap fittings in a bronze or aged brass tone
- Drybrush trim edges with a lighter metallic to suggest worn contact points
4. Weapons
- Base the blades in a dark iron tone and highlight with silver along the cutting edge
- Add a warm gold or tarnished brass to the spear shaft and pommel to contrast the cold armour
5. Weathering
- Apply rust streaks using a stippled orange-brown mix around joints and lower armour plates
- Use a dark brown to add dried blood or mud around the boots and skull base
6. Bases
- Drybrush the skulls with bone then off-white, wash with a sepia tone, and finish the base rim in a flat black to ground the model on the table
