Sci-fi devotees of the machine and iron gospel will find their ranks bolstered by the Aerobellum Pursuers/Purgators Build Kit, a squad of five resin miniatures standing 31mm from feet to eyes. Each figure arrives as a physical resin cast, supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting. The kit contains 53 parts in total, with 43 unique components, giving you meaningful variety across the squad.
These towering cyborg hunters combine baroque mechanical armour with insectoid lower limbs, dome-shaped cranial helmets fitted with trailing sensor vanes, and a variety of ranged and melee weapons. The level of sculptural detail is exceptional, from riveted chest plates and articulated claw feet to ornate weapon housings and grotesque facial visages. Whether you field them as elite skirmishers, cult enforcers, or sworn purgation squads in your favourite grimdark tabletop ruleset, they make a striking centrepiece unit.
The build kit format means each warrior in the five-model squad can be posed and equipped differently. Weapon options include long-barrelled rifles, compact sidearms, energy blades, and close-combat appendages. Interchangeable heads and torso components allow you to create a cohesive but varied unit with individual character. All parts are cast in high-quality grey resin with crisp detail retention throughout.
Sculpted by DakkaDakka, this Sci-fi machine cult kit is compatible with standard 32mm round bases and fits naturally alongside other grimdark infantry at the 28-32mm heroic scale.
Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Machine Cult Miniatures:Aerobellum Pursuers/Purgators Build KitThis painting guide is written for hobbyists who want to bring out the mechanical menace and cult iconography of the Aerobellum Pursuers/Purgators. Work in thin layers and allow each stage to dry fully before proceeding.
1. Prime
- Spray with a mid-grey or black primer to preserve surface detail and give paint a strong tooth.
- A zenithal highlight of white or light grey from above will help define form before you begin painting.
2. Armour Base
- Apply a dark iron or gunmetal basecoat to the main armour plates using a flat brush.
- Thin your paint slightly and work it into recesses first, then build up coverage on raised surfaces.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out rivets, vents, and trim lines with a brighter silver or polished steel tone.
- Use a small detail brush for the facial visages and dome helmet panels, applying a contrasting dark bronze or verdigris green.
4. Weapons
- Paint rifle casings in a dark matte black, then edge-highlight with a cold blue-grey to suggest hard metal.
- Energy blades and weapon power cells can be finished in a hot orange or toxic green glow effect, using thin glazes built up from a dark base to a bright tip.
5. Weathering
- Apply a thinned brown or black wash into all recesses to deepen shadow and simulate grime.
- Stipple chipping effects on armour edges using a torn blister foam and a mid-grey, followed by a tiny spot of dark brown beneath each chip to suggest bare metal wear.
6. Bases
- Texture paste in a dusty ash or industrial rubble scheme complements the mechanical aesthetic of the unit and ties the squad together visually.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
