Sci-fi warfare arrives in stunning physical form with the MSC 1st Assault Team, a full squad of 15 ready-to-paint resin miniatures sculpted by DakkaDakka. Each piece arrives as a physical resin miniature, supports already removed, cleaned, and prepared so you can move straight to assembly and painting. Scaled at 28mm from feet to eyes, these soldiers deliver exceptional detail at tabletop scale.
The set includes 10 infantry troopers in a variety of dynamic combat poses, ranging from crouching marksmen to advancing assault fighters. Each trooper wears a distinctive powered battle suit with characteristic twin-antenna helmets, segmented plate armour, and integrated equipment packs. The variety of stances across the 10 infantry models ensures no two feel alike on the battlefield.
Alongside the infantry, the set includes 4 deployable turret and sensor drone models mounted on pedestals, each with a unique weapon or scanning configuration. A fifth support piece is a ground-based heavy weapons emplacement, adding firepower and battlefield presence to the squad. Together the 15 models form a complete, self-contained sci-fi strike force ready for any wargaming system or display collection.
All miniatures are cast in high-quality grey resin. Minor flash or mould lines may be present and can be removed with a hobby knife before painting. Super glue is recommended for assembly of any multi-part pieces.
Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Fire Squad Miniatures - MSC 1st Assault Team x 15Whether you prefer a clean military aesthetic or a battered frontline look, these models reward careful layering and controlled washes. The following guide walks through a recommended approach for the full squad.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or white spray primer to all models.
- Allow full cure time before applying any paint.
2. Armour Base
- Apply your chosen armour colour as a solid base coat. Steel grey, dark navy, or bone white all suit the sci-fi aesthetic well.
- Use thin coats to preserve the crisp panel lines across the suits.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out helmet visors, armour piping, and equipment panels in a contrasting colour such as orange, red, or gold.
- Apply a targeted wash such as a dark blue-grey into recesses to define the segmented armour plates.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat weapons in dark gunmetal or black, then drybrush with a lighter silver to bring out raised edges.
- Add a spot colour to energy components or scopes for visual interest.
5. Weathering
- Use a sponge or stippling brush to apply chipping effects with a dark brown or black on armour edges.
- A thin oil wash across the whole model can unify the palette and add grime to recesses.
6. Bases
- The oval bases suit a rubble, urban, or ash-waste texture applied with basing paste or sand and PVA.
- Finish with a matte varnish across all models to protect your work.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
