Sci-fi horror meets dark artistry in this chilling physical resin miniature, the Hospital Spinner. Cast in high-detail resin and supplied with supports already removed, this model arrives ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. Standing 34mm from feet to eyes and mounted on a 32mm round base, the Hospital Spinner is a commanding centrepiece for any grimdark collection or skirmish warband.
This single model comes in 13 individual parts, allowing for clean assembly and precise positioning of every component. The main character is a heavily armoured female cultist figure, clad in segmented plating, flowing coat tails, and adorned with mechanical ornamentation including spiked pauldrons and a mace-like weapon. At her side, a chained captive figure is suspended from a towering crane arm, wrists locked in manacles, feet barely touching the base. The level of sculpted detail across both figures is exceptional, capturing musculature, fabric folds, and mechanical hardware with striking clarity.
Sculpted by DakkaDakka, this sci-fi miniature sits perfectly alongside dark cults, renegade warbands, and twisted inquisitor retinues. Whether you are building a themed collection or fielding a characterful unit on the tabletop, the Hospital Spinner delivers dramatic presence and narrative weight. The 32mm base keeps the model tournament legal for most popular skirmish systems.
All parts are cast in grey resin. Minor mould lines may be present and can be cleaned with a hobby knife or fine sandpaper before assembly. Plastic model glue is not suitable. Use superglue or a resin-compatible adhesive for best results.
Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Chaos Cultist Female Miniature – Hospital Spinner (28mm Resin)This sci-fi miniature rewards a careful, layered painting approach. Work from darkest tones upward and let each layer dry fully before moving on.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer to all assembled parts before painting begins.
- Allow to cure fully for at least one hour in a dust-free area.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the armour panels in a deep charcoal grey or worn iron tone to evoke corrupt military plating.
- Apply a second thin coat once the first is fully dry to achieve smooth, opaque coverage.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the mechanical ornamentation, rivets, and tubing in a tarnished bronze or verdigris-tinged gold.
- Use a fine detail brush for the chain links and manacles on the captive figure, keeping the tone darker to suggest aged metal.
4. Weapons
- Paint the mace head in dark steel with edge highlights in bright silver to emphasise its menacing weight.
- Add a faint corrosive wash into the recesses to suggest grime and long use in grim conditions.
5. Weathering
- Apply a brown and black oil wash or acrylic shade over the entire model, working it into recesses and panel lines.
- Drybrush raised edges lightly with a lighter grey or pale silver to bring forward surface detail.
6. Bases
- Texture the 32mm base with fine sand or a ready-mixed basing paste, then paint in dark stone tones with a pale drybrush to complete the grimdark aesthetic.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
