Sci-fi devotion takes physical form with this striking female miniature, the Sound Relict, a banner-bearer drawn from the darker corners of a grimdark cult warband. Cast in high-quality resin, this single figure arrives pre-printed, with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move straight to assembly and painting. At 33 mm from feet to eyes, she sits comfortably alongside standard 28-32 mm scale wargaming collections while commanding attention on the battlefield or display shelf.
The Sound Relict carries a tall ceremonial standard topped with a spiked disc totem, its hanging fabric strips adding a sense of ritual weight. Her layered armour plates, flowing tabard, and crested helmet give her a commanding presence that reads clearly even at tabletop distance. The base scenic element, a crushed winged skull underfoot, reinforces the theme of fanatical conquest. A second head option and alternate shoulder armour are included, allowing for a small degree of personalisation before assembly.
This miniature comes as 8 separate parts. A standard plastic-compatible hobby adhesive is recommended for assembly. The clean, crisp surface detail rewards careful brushwork and holds washes and drybrushing exceptionally well. Whether you are building a cult warband for skirmish games or adding a characterful centrepiece to a larger sci-fi force, the Sound Relict delivers strong visual impact.
Sculpted by DakkaDakka, this figure represents the kind of detailed, flavourful character model that dedicated hobbyists appreciate. One miniature is included per order, supplied unpainted and unassembled.
Painting Guide: Sci-Fi Chaos Cult Female Miniature – Sound RelictThe following guide is designed to help you achieve a striking, battle-worn finish suited to a sci-fi cult aesthetic. Work in thin, layered coats throughout for the best results.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or black spray primer in a light, even coat from approximately 30 cm away
- Allow to cure fully before painting, ideally overnight in a dry environment
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the armour plates in a deep charcoal or dark iron tone for a menacing look
- Alternatively, use a dark crimson for a more explicitly cult-themed palette
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out raised trim, rivets, and the banner totem disc in a tarnished brass or aged gold
- Paint the hanging fabric strips in off-white or pale bone to create tonal contrast
4. Weapons
- Paint the blade or ceremonial weapon in a cold steel tone, leaving recesses dark
- Add a glaze of blue or green ink for an otherworldly, energised edge effect
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black wash across all armour panels and recesses to deepen shadows
- Drybrush lightly with a lighter metal tone over raised armour edges to simulate wear
6. Bases
- Paint the base rim in a neutral dark grey or black to frame the miniature cleanly on the tabletop
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
