Saphire is a stunning 80mm resin miniature depicting a powerful elven spellcaster clad in ornate fantasy armour, holding an elaborate staff topped with a glowing orb in one hand and an open tome in the other. This physical resin figure arrives with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready to assemble and paint. Standing at an impressive 80mm tall, Saphire commands attention on any shelf, display case, or tabletop battlefield.
Sculpted with exceptional detail, the figure features flowing hair, pointed elven ears, layered pauldrons, engraved leg armour, and a billowing cloak caught mid-motion. The intricate scrollwork on the staff and the delicate pages of the tome showcase the high quality of the sculpt. Every surface offers the hobbyist a rewarding painting experience, from broad sweeping cloth panels to fine filigree metalwork. Saphire suits solo display, RPG campaigns, or as a centrepiece model in any fantasy skirmish game including Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder.
Each Saphire miniature is cast in high-quality grey resin, allowing excellent detail retention and a smooth finish ideal for painting with acrylics or oils. Minor assembly may be required for any separately cast components such as the staff or cloak section. A small amount of light sanding or gap-filling with modelling putty may improve fit at join points before painting begins.
Painting Guide: Saphire, Figurine 80mm, Fantasy RPG Dungeons And Dragons, PathfinderThe following guide is designed to help hobbyists bring Saphire to life using widely available acrylic miniature paints. Take your time with each stage for the best results.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or white spray primer across the entire model.
- Allow to cure fully for at least one hour before proceeding.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the armour plates with a deep midnight blue or pale silver depending on your colour scheme.
- Apply thin, even coats to preserve the sculpted detail beneath.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint all scrollwork, filigree, and raised trim in a warm gold or burnished bronze.
- Use a fine detail brush to pick out small engraved lines cleanly without overpainting neighbouring surfaces.
4. Weapons
- Paint the staff shaft in aged wood tones, layering from dark brown up to a light tan highlight.
- For the orb atop the staff, apply a glowing magical colour such as arcane blue or pale green, then glaze outward to suggest inner light.
5. Weathering
- Add thin washes of brown or black into recesses of the armour to increase depth and shadow.
- Lightly drybrush raised edges of armour plates with a bright metallic colour to suggest wear.
6. Bases
- Texture the base with fine sand or modelling paste, paint in stone grey tones, and add tufts or moss for a ruined courtyard feel.
