The Captain Quidd Crew is a fearsome band of ten pirate miniatures, sculpted with extraordinary detail and brimming with nautical menace. Each figure in the Captain Quidd Crew brings a distinct personality to your warband, from the towering, tentacle-wreathed captain himself to skeleton gunfighters, brutish enforcers, and cunning female pirates armed to the teeth. These physical resin miniatures arrive with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready to assemble and paint straight out of the box.
The set includes ten unique characters inspired by high-seas piracy and dark oceanic folklore. Figures range in scale, with standard crew members sitting at approximately 32mm to 35mm and the larger boss-tier models reaching closer to 50mm in height. Standout sculpts include a barrel-chested ship cook clutching a cleaver and a squid, a skeletal pirate captain dual-wielding a flintlock pistol and cutlass, a cannon-operating female gunner, a goblin-like crewman hoisting a tankard, and a monstrous ogre-class brute alongside a winged swashbuckler. The Captain Quidd Crew delivers remarkable visual variety for skirmish gaming or display collections alike.
Each miniature is cast in high-quality grey resin and captures fine surface textures including weathered leather coats, barnacled bases, buckled belts, and intricate facial detail. The bases feature cobblestone and deck-plank textures suited to nautical or coastal themed terrain. Assembly may be required for certain multi-part figures. Superglue is recommended.
Whether you are building a pirate warband for skirmish play or adding striking display pieces to your collection, the Captain Quidd Crew offers a complete and cohesive roster of characterful models ready for the brush.
Painting Guide: Captain Quidd Crew – Pirate Miniature Set (10 Models)This guide will help you bring the Captain Quidd Crew to life with a gritty, sea-worn palette suited to their nautical outlaw theme.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer to all models.
- For brighter colour results on female crew and goblin figures, a white prime or zenithal highlight works well.
2. Armour Base
- Base coat leather armour in a mid-brown such as Rhinox Hide or Leather Brown.
- Paint canvas coats and trousers in off-white, aged linen, or ochre tones to suggest salt-bleached fabric.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out buckles, clasps, and coin details in brass or tarnished gold using Retributor Armour or Brass Scorpion.
- Paint rope, belts, and strapping in dark leather browns, adding variety across the crew to avoid repetition.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat blades and gun barrels in a dark metallic such as Leadbelcher or Gunmetal Grey.
- Add edge highlights with a brighter silver, then apply a dark wash such as Nuln Oil to deepen recesses.
5. Weathering
- Drybrush leather and cloth surfaces lightly with a pale bone or cream to simulate wear and salt damage.
- Apply rust streaks to metal areas using Typhus Corrosion or orange-brown stippling for a worn, battered look.
6. Bases
- Paint the cobblestone and deck textures in grey-brown tones, wash with Agrax Earthshade, then drybrush with pale grey to lift detail.
- Add a gloss varnish to puddle or water recesses to suggest wet dock boards or tide-washed stone.
