The Odin Daughter 2 is a formidable Norse warrior miniature, arriving as a fully printed and cleaned physical resin figure ready for assembly and painting. She charges into battle wielding a heavy double-headed axe raised high, her round Celtic-knotwork shield braced at her side, and her horned helm wreathed in wild, flowing hair. A dense fur cloak covers her broad shoulders and falls to her knees, sculpted with extraordinary feather-like texture that rewards careful brushwork. Layered leather and plate armour, studded belts, and fur-wrapped greaves complete the silhouette of a shieldmaiden at the peak of her fury.

Sculpted by Mini Realms, this piece carries the same intensity and craft as the rest of their Norse range, with crisp surface detail throughout. Supports have been removed and the model cleaned before dispatch, so it arrives ready to assemble and paint straight from the package. She sits naturally alongside the Odin Daughter 1 as a companion piece.

The rear view reveals just how impressive the fur cloak really is, with individual tufts rendered in fine relief across the entire back of the figure. The axe and shield are equally well defined, making this a rewarding centrepiece or squad leader for a Norse-themed collection. Whether displayed on a scenic base or fielded across a gaming table, she presents a commanding presence from every angle.

Odin Daughter 2 suits painters of all levels. Beginners will find large, cleanly defined surfaces to work on, while experienced hobbyists will enjoy the layering and texturing opportunities offered by the fur cloak, knotwork shield, and layered armour plates.

Painting Guide: Odin Daughter 2

The following steps are a recommended approach, working from large surface areas down to fine details. Adjust colours to suit your own Norse palette.

1. Prime

  • Apply a grey primer such as Chaos Black or Mechanicus Standard Grey by brush or rattle can, ensuring all recesses are covered evenly.
  • Zenithal highlight with white or light grey from above to establish natural light and shadow before any colour is applied.

2. Armour Base

  • Base coat the armour plates with Leadbelcher or Vallejo Gunmetal Grey, then wash with Nuln Oil to deepen the recesses and rivets.
  • Highlight raised edges with Ironbreaker followed by a fine line of Stormhost Silver on the sharpest edges.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out belt buckles, helmet rivets, and shield boss with Retributor Armour, then shade with Agrax Earthshade for a worn gold effect.
  • Layer up with Liberator Gold and edge highlight with Stormhost Silver to finish the metallic trim.

4. Weapons

  • Base the axe head with Leadbelcher, wash with Nuln Oil, and add selective rust staining using Ryza Rust stippled lightly across the blade.
  • Highlight the cutting edge with Stormhost Silver to give the impression of a well-maintained weapon edge on an otherwise battle-worn axe.

5. Weathering

  • Apply thinned Agrax Earthshade or Stirland Mud to the boots and lower fur to suggest mud and wear from hard campaigning.
  • Add fine scratches to armour plates using a thin brush and a mix of dark grey and silver, following the natural direction of movement.

6. Bases

  • Build up a Norse tundra base using texture paste, small stones, and dried tufts in muted greens and grey-browns. A wash of Agrax Earthshade over the whole base ties everything together before adding a few patches of winter static grass.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
