Trench Crusade style warfare meets holy terror in this set of two Nuns miniatures from Crab Miniatures, sculpted in uncompromising grimdark detail on 25mm bases. Each figure embodies the brutal piety of a religious militant order, clad in flowing habits torn by battle and adorned with crusader crosses. One Nun wears heavy plate armour over her robes and wields a spiked mace, while her sister charges into combat in a battle-torn habit, pistol extended in each hand. Together they form a tight warband unit ready to bring righteous fury to the tabletop.
This set contains two physical resin miniatures, supports already removed, cleaned and ready to assemble and paint. The models are cast in high-quality resin and capture fine surface textures including cloth folds, riveted plate, and ornate religious iconography. At 25mm base size these figures integrate seamlessly into skirmish wargames and warband collections with a Trench Crusade style aesthetic of grim faith and unrelenting violence.
Both sculpts display outstanding dynamic posing. The armoured Nun stands resolute with her mace lowered, emanating cold authority, while the pistol-wielding Nun surges forward with robes flowing behind her. Cross motifs, belted pouches, and ragged hems reinforce the theme of a warrior-saint who has endured long campaigns in a shattered world. These are ideal centrepiece models or rank-and-file warriors for a holy order warband.
Squad size inferred from the product image is two miniatures. No assembly adhesive or paint is included. Miniatures are supplied unpainted and may require minor cleanup before painting.
Painting Guide: Trench Crusade style - NunsThe following guide will help you bring these Trench Crusade style warrior-saints to life with a battle-worn, devotional colour scheme suited to grimdark tabletop gaming.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or white spray primer for a neutral base that allows both light and dark tones to read well across the robes and armour.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat plate armour with Leadbelcher or Dark Reaper for a cold, aged steel look.
- Shade the armour deeply with Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade, allowing pooling in the recesses for a battle-worn appearance.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out cross symbols and decorative trim in Retributor Armour or a tarnished gold to suggest ancient devotional metalwork.
- Paint the habits and robes in off-white such as Pallid Wych Flesh, then shade with watered-down Seraphim Sepia for a grimy, campaign-worn finish.
4. Weapons
- Paint the spiked mace with a steel basecoat highlighted with Ironbreaker, then apply rust streaks using Typhus Corrosion and Ryza Rust.
- Basecoat the pistols with Abaddon Black, drybrush lightly with Leadbelcher, and add small chips with a sponge technique using Rhinox Hide.
5. Weathering
- Add mud and grime to the hem of the robes using a stippled mix of Stirland Mud and Agrax Earthshade.
- Apply light edge highlighting to the robes with pure white to increase contrast and add a sense of worn fabric catching the light.
6. Bases
- Texture the 25mm bases with Astrogranite Debris or a muddy brown texture paste, drybrush with pale stone tones, and finish with a few tufts of dead grass to suggest a blasted warzone battlefield.
