Forgotten Champions rise from the ruins of shattered empires, and Morvak the Ruinborn stands as their most fearsome herald. This towering giant miniature is sculpted by Haito with brutal precision, depicting an armoured colossus in mid-stride, wielding a massive double-headed axe adorned with a snarling dragon skull. A tattered war banner crowns a second pose variant, hinting at countless campaigns fought and civilisations ground to ash beneath iron boots.
Standing as a true centrepiece model, Morvak commands the table with layered plate armour etched with angular rune-like patterns, spiked pauldrons, and thick chainmail draped across a frame built for conquest. The sculpt captures two distinct action poses, offering collectors a front-facing assault stance and a rear view showing the incredible detail carried across every surface of the model. Both variants are mounted on textured rocky rubble bases, adding immediate battlefield atmosphere straight out of the box.
This resin miniature is designed for 32mm scale tabletop wargaming and fits seamlessly into any force drawing inspiration from Giants or ancient warlord factions. The level of surface detail across the armour plates, weapon shafts, and scenic bases makes Morvak an exceptional display piece as much as a gaming model. Whether you are building a warband of Forgotten Champions or fielding a lone terror on the battlefield, Morvak the Ruinborn delivers commanding presence at every scale.
This listing includes 1 miniature supplied unpainted and unassembled. Miniatures are printed in high-resolution resin and may require light cleanup before painting. Suitable for experienced modellers and painters.
Painting Guide: Morvak the Ruinborn - GiantMorvak suits a dark, corroded palette that reinforces his role among the Forgotten Champions. Deep iron tones, rusted edges, and bone-pale accents will make every engraved surface sing under dry brushing and washes.
1. Prime
- Apply a black or dark grey spray prime to capture depth in the recessed armour panels and chain details
- Follow with a zenithal dust or bone colour from above to pre-shade the raised surfaces
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all plate surfaces with a dark iron or gunmetal grey, working the paint thinned into multiple passes
- Apply a heavy black wash across the entire armour to deepen the engraved runes and panel lines
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out pauldron spikes, knee guards, and helmet vents with a lighter silver edge highlight
- Paint chainmail sections with a stippled mid-iron tone to suggest worn, aged links
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the axe head in dark steel and shade heavily with a brown rust wash toward the blade edges
- Paint the dragon skull pommel with a pale bone colour, shaded with sepia and highlighted with off-white
5. Weathering
- Stipple orange-brown rust streaks downward from rivets, joints, and blade nicks using a torn sponge
- Drybrush raised armour edges with bright silver to simulate battle damage and war-worn use among Forgotten Champions
6. Bases
- Drybrush the rubble base with successive layers of grey, stone, and off-white, then add tufts of dead grass or ash-coloured static flock to complete the desolate battlefield look
