The Maverick Cultists Commander arrives as a fearsome leader figure cast in high-quality grey resin, standing approximately 30mm from feet to eyes and ready to take command of your warband on the tabletop. Clad in heavy layered armour, a flowing greatcoat, and a respirator helm crowned with a single spike, this commander radiates grim authority across the battlefield. One fist grips a cluster of grenades while the opposite arm raises a compact sidearm at the ready, conveying a character who leads from the front and takes no prisoners.

This physical resin miniature ships with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move straight to assembly and painting. The model comes in 2 parts: a detailed body and a separate head piece, making it straightforward to position or swap during assembly. It is supplied with a 40mm round base as shown. The sculpt is the work of DakkaDakka, whose attention to sci-fi grimdark detail is evident in every rivet, rope coil, and weathered armour plate.

Whether you field this model as a warband champion, a rogue officer, or a cult leader in a narrative skirmish campaign, the Maverick Cultists Commander brings a striking silhouette to any force. The dramatic cape, utility belt, and imposing stance make this miniature a natural centrepiece for a squad of hardened fighters drawn from the underhive or forgotten war zones of the far future.

Resin miniatures may require light assembly with superglue. Primer is recommended before painting. Adult supervision advised during assembly.

Painting Guide: Maverick Cultists Commander - Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniatures

Follow these steps to bring your Maverick Cultists Commander to life with a grimdark palette suited to a ruthless battlefield leader.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of grey or black spray primer to seal the resin and improve paint adhesion across all surface details.

2. Armour Base

  • Block in the armour plates with a dark iron or gunmetal basecoat such as Leadbelcher or similar metallic paint.
  • Base the greatcoat and cape in a deep neutral tone such as dark grey, worn leather brown, or faded olive to suggest a veteran campaigner.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out rope coils, belt pouches, and armour rivets in a warm bone or aged brass tone to add contrast against the darker armour.
  • Paint the respirator lenses in a deep amber or red to give the helm a menacing, inhuman quality.

4. Weapons

  • Drybrush the grenades and sidearm with a bright silver highlight over the metallic basecoat to suggest worn, used equipment.
  • Add a spot colour such as hazard yellow or cult red to grenade pins or weapon casings as a visual focal point.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a dark brown or black wash across all armour surfaces, letting it settle into recesses to define panel lines and add battle-worn depth.
  • Use a sponge or stippling brush to dab chipped paint effects on armour edges using a silver paint, suggesting prolonged combat wear.

6. Bases

  • Paint the base rim in a dark grey or black, and texture the top with a mix of fine sand, grit, and small rubble pieces painted in ash grey tones to evoke a ruined industrial warzone.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
