The Maverick Cultists Build Kit delivers a squad of three highly detailed physical resin miniatures, sculpted for grimdark sci-fi wargaming and arriving ready to assemble and paint. Each figure stands 29mm from feet to eyes, placing them comfortably alongside standard 28-32mm scale forces. The kit includes 52 individual parts in total, giving you extensive freedom to customise your warband exactly as you see fit.
Drawn from the shadowed underbelly of a vast and crumbling galactic empire, these fighters wear a ragged mix of scavenged armour plating, long coats, and combat webbing. The Maverick Cultists Build Kit comes with six interchangeable heads spanning bare scarred faces, gas masks, and armoured visors, as well as 40 separate arm options carrying weapons that range from heavy stubbers and long-las rifles to brutal close-combat blades and grenades. Whether you want a disciplined fire-base squad or a reckless melee warband, the parts are here to make it happen.
Every miniature in this kit has been cast in high-quality grey resin, with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned and sanded where needed. No printing equipment or additional processing is required on your end. Simply clean any remaining mould lines with a hobby knife, assemble using superglue, and the models are ready for the painting table. The level of detail across armour panels, pouches, weapon mechanisms, and facial scarring is sharp and consistent throughout.
This set is ideal for use as traitor infantry, underhive gangers, or renegade militiamen in any grimdark sci-fi skirmish or mass-battle game. The Maverick Cultists Build Kit pairs well with other infantry kits for building out a larger force.
Painting Guide: Maverick Cultists Build Kit - Sci-Fi Wargaming MiniaturesFollow these steps for a battle-worn, grimdark finish that suits the desperate aesthetic of underhive renegades.
1. Prime
- Apply a black or dark grey spray primer to the fully assembled or sub-assembled models from roughly 25-30cm distance.
- Allow to cure fully before moving on, ideally overnight.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat armour panels in a deep olive drab or dark steel grey using a flat brush.
- Basecoat the long coats and fabric with a muted brown or worn leather tone to contrast the armour.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out buckles, clasps, and straps in a dark brass or aged bronze.
- Paint gas mask lenses and visor slits in a deep red or sickly green to add menace to the faces.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat gun bodies in a cold gunmetal, leaving recesses darker to suggest worn metal.
- Add a thin highlight of bright silver along raised barrel edges and grip ridges.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black wash across all surfaces to settle into recesses and unify the palette.
- Drybrush armour edges lightly with a pale grey or silver to simulate battle damage and chipped paint.
- Stipple patches of rust using a sponge and orange-brown paint across lower leg armour and weapon bodies.
6. Bases
- Texture the base with a mix of fine sand, small rubble, and PVA glue, then paint in dark grey tones with bone-coloured highlights.
- Add a gloss varnish to puddle areas if desired, and finish the whole model with a matte varnish to protect the paintwork.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
