The Machine Cult Kardinal arrives as a commanding single-character resin miniature, embodying the cold authority of a cybernetic hierarch who has surrendered flesh for function. Standing at 60mm from top to bottom on a detailed industrial base, this figure looms with mechanical gravitas. Multiple mechadendrite limbs fan out from a robed torso bristling with cogwork, pistons, and arcane devices. A toothed staff topped with a skull finial rests in one outstretched hand, while servo-claws and weapon mounts extend from the rear harness in every direction. The hooded face peers from shadow with an eerie stillness that suits a leader of a machine-worshipping order.
This product comes as a physical resin miniature. Supports have already been removed and the parts cleaned where needed. The kit comprises 10 separate components that assemble onto a 60mm round industrial scenic base. All pieces are cast in high-detail grey resin and arrive ready to assemble and paint. Superglue is recommended for assembly. Suitable for use in any grimdark sci-fi skirmish or tabletop game that accommodates a 60mm base format.
The Machine Cult Kardinal is a centrepiece model and benefits from careful preparation before painting. Wash all parts in warm soapy water, allow them to dry fully, and dry-fit the components before gluing. We recommend painting sub-assemblies separately to reach recessed areas before final assembly.
Painting Guide: Machine Cult Kardinal - Cybernetic Resin MiniatureThe following guide is written for intermediate painters and focuses on a dark iron and oxidised copper scheme that suits the model's grimdark aesthetic. Citadel, Vallejo, and Army Painter ranges are all suitable.
1. Prime
- Apply a thin, even coat of black spray primer to all parts.
- Follow with a light zenithal mist of grey primer from above to establish pre-shading.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat all armour plates and mechanical limbs with Leadbelcher or Gunmetal Grey.
- Apply a wash of Nuln Oil over all metallic surfaces and allow to dry fully.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out cogs, rivets, and mechanical joints with Brass Scorpion or Bright Gold.
- Wash these areas with Agrax Earthshade to add depth and an aged appearance.
4. Weapons
- Paint the staff shaft in Dark Reaper, then edge-highlight with Thunderhawk Blue for a worn iron look.
- Basecoat energy coils and pistol bodies with Abaddon Black and highlight edges with Eshin Grey.
5. Weathering
- Use a sponge to stipple small patches of Rhinox Hide across armour edges to simulate chipping.
- Apply diluted Typhus Corrosion to recesses and around pipe joints for rust streaking.
6. Bases
- Drybrush the industrial base with Mechanicus Standard Grey, then Administratum Grey for raised grating detail.
- Add a thin gloss varnish to pooled areas to suggest industrial fluid or residue.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
