The Templar Crusader Dreadnought is a towering relic of faith and firepower, a walking fortress clad in ornate crusader armour and armed for the most brutal engagements in the far future. Every panel of this imposing war machine is engraved with sacred iconography, devotional crosses, and flowing filigree, marking it as a sacred instrument of righteous destruction. Standing approximately 80mm tall, this single miniature commands immediate attention on any battlefield or display shelf.

The model arrives as a physical resin miniature with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting. The Templar Crusader Dreadnought features a multi-launcher cannon pod on the left shoulder, a twin-barrelled heavy cannon on the right arm, a skull-topped crusader cross atop the carapace, and a chain-mail tabard hanging between the legs, all rendered in stunning detail. The chest and shoulder panels are adorned with intricate gothic relief work that rewards careful brushwork. A sculpted aquila crest sits at the centre of the hull, and the armoured feet are posed in a steady, aggressive stance that conveys unstoppable momentum.

This miniature is produced by Atlan Forge and is suitable for use as a heavy support walker in any grimdark sci-fi wargame or as a centrepiece collectible. The resin captures fine surface texture across every component, from riveted armour plates to the layered chain links of the tabard. The Templar Crusader Dreadnought is supplied unpainted and may require minor assembly with hobby adhesive.

Sculpted with exceptional precision, this piece suits both competitive hobbyists who demand detail and collectors who value display-quality centrepieces. It pairs well with similarly themed infantry and walker units for a cohesive crusader warband aesthetic.

Painting Guide: Templar Crusader Dreadnought - Templar Sci-Fi Warrior Miniature

The following steps are designed to help you achieve a battle-worn crusader finish that honours the devotional quality of the sculpt. Take your time with each stage to bring out the full depth of the engravings and relief work.

1. Prime

  • Apply a thin, even coat of black or dark grey spray primer across the entire model.
  • Allow to cure fully before proceeding, at least 30 minutes in a warm and dry environment.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the armour panels in a flat bone or ivory white for a classic crusader look, or use deep grey for a more militant finish.
  • Apply thin, even coats and build up coverage gradually to preserve the engraved details beneath.

3. Trim and Details

  • Paint the raised trim, crosses, and filigree in a bright gold or burnished brass, using a fine detail brush to stay within the lines.
  • Pick out the skull iconography on the carapace crest and chest panels in off-white or aged bone tones.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the cannon barrels and launcher pods in dark iron or gunmetal, then drybrush lightly with a brighter silver to suggest worn metal.
  • Add spot colour to any lenses or targeting optics using a deep red or amber glaze for contrast.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a dark brown or black wash over the entire model to settle into recesses and define the engravings.
  • Once dry, use a sponge or fine brush to stipple chipped paint effects along armour edges using a dark grey or rust tone.
  • Streak rust and grime down the legs and lower hull using a thin mix of orange-brown and medium.

6. Bases

  • Texture the base with a mix of coarse sand, small slate chips, and hobby paste to suggest a shattered battlefield or ruined citadel floor.
  • Paint the base in ashen grey tones and add a gloss varnish to any pooled liquid effects for a cinematic result.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
