The K.I.N.K. Castle Executants Squad Two arrives as a set of five individual resin miniatures, each one sculpted with striking detail and a commanding presence suited to any grimdark sci-fi battlefield. Supports have already been removed and surfaces cleaned, so these figures are ready to assemble and paint straight from the box. Standing approximately 28mm from feet to eyes, each warrior carries a distinct silhouette drawn from a tradition of sinister, ornate martial culture.

The squad features two taller command-grade figures bearing elaborate spiked staves and crescent-headed polearms, their robes sweeping dramatically and their armour etched with baroque detailing. A standard bearer holds aloft a spiked banner crowned with a daemonic visage, while a second operative takes aim with a compact sidearm, cloak billowing behind. The remaining three figures round out the squad with curved blades, a ceremonial shield, and a crouching mechanical or arcane device that anchors the group as a cohesive, characterful warband. Each pose is dynamic and distinct, avoiding the repetition that weakens lesser kits.

These are physical resin miniatures cast and finished to a high standard by DakkaDakka. The K.I.N.K. Castle Executants Squad Two is equally at home as a centrepiece squad in a larger force or as a standalone collector's display group. Whether you paint them in muted metallics and shadow-drenched robes or push into vivid ceremonial colour, the sculpting depth rewards every level of painter.

Five models are included. Minor assembly may be required depending on individual figure construction. Superglue is recommended.

Painting Guide: K.I.N.K. Castle Executants Squad Two (x5), Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniatures

This squad rewards a palette that balances cold metallics with rich, dark robes and selective accent colours. The guide below walks through the process step by step, from primer to finished base.

1. Prime

  • Apply a zenithal prime using black from below and grey or off-white from above to establish natural shadow and highlight contrast before paint is laid down.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat armour panels with a deep steel or gunmetal tone such as Leadbelcher or Scale75 Speed Metal.
  • Wash the entire armour surface with Nuln Oil or a dark blue-black wash to deepen recesses and unify the surface.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out decorative trim, spikes, and relief details with a warm gold or brass such as Retributor Armour, then shade with Agrax Earthshade for an aged, worn effect.
  • Paint robes and cloaks in deep charcoal, midnight purple, or dark teal, layering up with edge highlights using a lighter version of the same hue.

4. Weapons

  • Paint staff shafts and polearm hafts in a dark iron tone, leaving the blade tips brighter to draw the eye.
  • Add a subtle OSL glow effect around any arcane or energy elements using a thin glaze of cold blue or sickly green, building up in thin layers from the source outward.

5. Weathering

  • Stipple chipping effects onto armour edges using a torn blister foam sponge and a dark brown or black, then apply thin rust streaks with a fine brush and a diluted orange-brown mix.
  • Add battle damage scratches on blades and shields by dry-brushing a silver tone along upper edges.

6. Bases

  • Texture the base with fine grit paste or cracked earth texture paint, then drybrush with a pale stone colour and add a dark brown wash. Finish with a small tuft of dead grass or a fragment of slate to anchor the figure to its environment.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
