The K.I.N.K. Castle Executants Squad One is a ten-figure set of sharp, dynamic infantry sculpted with the kind of menacing detail that rewards careful brushwork and careful assembly in equal measure. Each warrior cuts a striking silhouette in layered armour, long coats, and spiked or horned helms, carrying a varied arsenal of blades, maces, pistols, and chain weapons across the squad. The poses are full of momentum and intent, with figures mid-stride, lunging, or taking aim, giving the unit genuine visual energy on the tabletop.
Every miniature in this set arrives as a physical resin casting. Supports have already been removed and surfaces cleaned, so you can move straight to assembly and painting without any prep work beyond a light wash. The models stand 28mm from feet to eyes, consistent with standard infantry scale, and are supplied with bases as shown.
The set contains 10 models across 19 parts. Several figures include optional heads and weapon arm variants, giving you meaningful flexibility in how you build and personalise the squad. Whether you want a uniform look across the unit or a more ragged, individualised warband feel, the kit supports both approaches.
The K.I.N.K. Castle Executants Squad One suits any dark, gothic, or militarised science-fantasy setting and pairs naturally with other squads and characters from the same sculptor's range.
Painting Guide: K.I.N.K. Castle Executants Squad One x10 ResinThese figures reward a high-contrast approach. Deep shadows in the recesses of the armour and coats will make the aggressive sculpting read clearly at arm's length on the table.
1. Prime
- Spray with a black or dark grey primer for deep shadow retention across the layered armour and fabric folds.
- A zenithal highlight in light grey over the black base will give you a head start on natural light distribution before any paint is applied.
2. Armour Base
- Apply a flat, dark metallic such as dark iron or gunmetal over all plated surfaces, keeping the coat and cloth areas clean.
- For a more sinister look, try a deep burgundy or cold charcoal on select armour panels before the metallic layer goes over the top.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out studs, rivets, buckles, and edge trim in a lighter silver or aged brass to create separation between armour sections.
- Horns, spikes, and helmet crests work well in bone, ivory, or a desaturated cream to contrast the dark metal body.
4. Weapons
- Blades and mace heads look effective in a clean silver with a thin blue-black wash settled into the fuller and edges.
- Pistol and firearm barrels benefit from a slightly darker, sooted tone at the muzzle to suggest heavy use.
5. Weathering
- Apply a thin oil wash in dark brown or black across all metallic surfaces and let it settle into every recess before wiping the raised areas back with a flat brush.
- Dry brush the outermost edges of armour plates with a pale silver to simulate battle wear and catch the eye at tabletop distance.
6. Bases
- A cold, rubble-strewn urban scheme in grey stone tones with a gloss varnish puddle effect suits the grim character of the squad well.
