The Hover APC RP-8 Rapid Pulsar is a heavily armed anti-gravity armoured personnel carrier designed for rapid deployment across contested battlefields in your grimdark sci-fi wargaming collection. Scaled at 32mm, this physical resin miniature arrives with supports already removed, cleaned, and ready to assemble and paint straight from the box.
The RP-8 bristles with firepower. A rotating twin gatling cannon turret dominates the upper hull, flanked by a secondary pintle-mounted weapon emplacement and a smaller side-mounted gun ring. The hull is richly detailed with riveted armour plating, recessed panel lines, exhaust vents, reinforced access hatches, and a prominent skull-embossed front ramp door. Stabiliser skids and thruster nozzles line the underside, reinforcing the hover propulsion aesthetic throughout. This single vehicle is supplied as a multi-part resin kit and is intended for individual use or as a centrepiece transport unit in your force.
The level of surface detail on the Hover APC RP makes it an outstanding centrepiece for any sci-fi tabletop army. Every surface rewards careful painting, from the layered hull armour to the multi-barrelled rotary weapons and mechanical undercarriage. The model is cast in high-quality grey resin and is fully compatible with standard 32mm scale wargaming rules and basing conventions.
Painting Guide: Hover APC RP-8 Rapid Pulsar, Sci-Fi Wargaming Vehicle, 32mm ScaleThis guide will help you bring the Hover APC RP to life on your painting table, whether you prefer a clean parade-ready scheme or a heavily weathered battlefield veteran look.
1. Prime
- Spray with a grey or black primer to seal the resin and provide tooth for paint adhesion.
- A light zenithal highlight with white or light grey primer adds instant depth before you begin painting.
2. Armour Base
- Apply a flat base coat across all armour panels. Dark military greens, urban greys, or deep navy blues all suit the grimdark aesthetic well.
- Use a large flat brush to keep coverage even across the broad hull surfaces.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out rivets, panel edges, and raised trims in a darker metal tone such as leadbelcher or gunmetal.
- Paint hatches, vents, and mechanical detail areas in a contrasting colour to break up large flat surfaces.
4. Weapons
- Basecoat the gatling barrels and pintle weapons in a dark steel tone, then drybrush with bright silver to emphasise the individual barrel tips.
- Add spot colours such as deep red or orange to targeting optics and sensor lenses for visual interest.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black wash into all recesses, panel lines, and around exhausts to create shadow and depth.
- Use a sponge or dry-brushed chipping medium to add paint chips and battle damage along exposed armour edges.
- Streak rust tones downward from exhaust ports and rivet lines using a thin brush.
6. Bases
- Mount the model on a suitable scenic base using strong two-part epoxy adhesive.
- A rubble, ash wasteland, or urban debris theme pairs well with the vehicle's imposing silhouette.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
