The Hive Swarm Sporemorph Hunter is a bio-engineered apex predator sculpted in exceptional detail, depicting a towering xenomorphic creature in the midst of a savage kill. Standing 52mm and 70mm from feet to eyes depending on scale, this physical resin miniature arrives with supports already removed, ready to assemble and paint. The creature's pale grey hide is riddled with glowing bioluminescent spore clusters in orange and amber, its elongated maw split wide in a triumphant roar as it clutches a fallen soldier in one claw and raises a severed trophy in the other.

The base is a masterclass in grimdark storytelling. Broken armour, scattered equipment, pools of crimson gore and a defeated body beneath the creature's feet all combine to create a scene of total battlefield dominance. A second variant pose shows the beast gripping a living soldier, spine arched in desperate struggle, adding tremendous narrative energy to your collection or gaming table.

The Hive Swarm Sporemorph Hunter is a single character miniature, sold as one model per unit. It is cast in high-detail grey resin, capturing every sinew, spore nodule, tail barb and ragged wound with sharp precision. Whether displayed as a centrepiece or fielded as a monstrous creature in your favourite grimdark sci-fi skirmish system, this model commands attention from every angle.

This model suits collectors who appreciate large-scale character miniatures with dynamic poses and heavily detailed scenic bases. Assembly may be required for any separate components. Plastic cement is not suitable for resin. Use cyanoacrylate adhesive. Priming before painting is strongly recommended.

Painting Guide: Hive Swarm Sporemorph Hunter – Bio-Engineered Apex Predator

The following guide will help you bring this creature to life with a striking, grimdark colour scheme that matches the studio paint job shown in the product images.

1. Prime

  • Apply a zenithal prime using black from below and light grey from above to pre-shade the model and define the musculature before any colour is applied.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the creature's skin with a cool mid-grey such as Mechanicus Standard Grey or equivalent.
  • Wash the entire skin area with a thinned blue-black shade to push depth into recesses and wound areas.

3. Trim and Details

  • Drybrush raised skin surfaces lightly with a pale grey or off-white to restore highlights after the wash.
  • Paint spore nodules with a deep orange basecoat, then layer up to a bright amber or yellow-orange at the highest point of each cluster.

4. Weapons

  • Paint bone claws and tail barbs with ivory, shading the bases with a brown wash and highlighting tips with near-white.
  • The impaled bone spike or lance weapon can be painted as aged bone with a sepia wash and pale highlight along the length.

5. Weathering

  • Add fresh blood effects to the claws, the severed trophy and the base using a gloss red technical paint or varnish-thinned crimson applied selectively for a wet appearance.
  • Stipple a thin rust-brown around wound openings on the creature's hide to suggest torn, bruised tissue beneath the skin.

6. Bases

  • Paint the fallen armour in a military olive green and grey, then apply heavy rust and chipping effects. Finish the base with a gloss medium pooled in recesses to represent blood and fluid accumulation, and seal the whole model with a satin varnish to balance sheen across surfaces.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
