Steeped in Gothic Sci-Fi atmosphere, Zenu the Spiritholder is a single-character resin miniature standing 31 mm from feet to eyes, sculpted by DakkaDakka with extraordinary detail across every surface. This is a physical, already-printed resin miniature. Supports have been removed and the model has been cleaned and sanded, arriving ready to assemble and paint straight from the package.
Zenu cuts a dramatic silhouette as a tall, robed warlock figure adorned in layered armour, a voluminous fur-trimmed shoulder mantle, and a billowing battle-worn cloak. One arm is raised aloft bearing a winged familiar perched in mid-flight, while the other grips a towering ornate staff crowned with a tri-pronged finial and a wrapped, leaf-shaped totem. Coiled serpentine forms twist around the rocky scenic base, adding movement and menace to the composition. The Gothic Sci aesthetic is present throughout, from the arcane rune-etched staff to the alien skull-horned helmet options included in the kit.
The model comes as 13 individual parts, giving the assembler a satisfying build experience and offering two head options: a closed skull-horned helmet and an open-faced horned variant that reveals a weathered, battle-scarred face. Two weapon arm variants are also included, one holding a compact pistol. Each alternate part is cleanly cast and fits with precision.
This miniature is ideal for use as a leader, sorcerer, or elite hero in any grimdark sci-fi skirmish or tabletop wargame where a commanding Gothic Sci-Fi presence is required. Whether displayed as a centrepiece or fielded on the tabletop, Zenu the Spiritholder will anchor any warband with striking visual authority.
Painting Guide: Gothic Sci-Fi Space Elf Warlock - Zenu the SpiritholderThis guide will help you bring Zenu to life with a dark, arcane colour scheme that suits his Gothic Sci-Fi origins and his role as a spirit-wielding warlock commander.
1. Prime
- Apply a grey or black zenithal prime for instant depth and contrast across the layered robes and armour plates.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat armour plates with a deep teal or midnight blue for a cold, alien feel.
- Drybrush with a lighter blue-grey to pick out the raised edges and surface detail.
3. Trim and Details
- Paint armour trim and staff runes with a pale bone or aged gold to contrast the dark armour.
- Wash all trim areas with a brown or sepia shade to settle the colour and add warmth.
4. Weapons
- Paint the staff shaft in a dark bronze, drybrushed with bright gold to suggest worn ritual metalwork.
- The pistol can be finished in gunmetal grey with a black wash to keep it grounded and utilitarian.
5. Weathering
- Apply edge chipping to armour with a fine brush and silver paint for a battle-hardened look.
- Add selective rust streaking to the cloak hem and lower armour panels using diluted orange-brown paint.
6. Bases
- Drybrush the scenic base in ash grey and pale stone, then add tufts of dead grass and a gloss varnish to the serpentine coils to suggest an otherworldly creature.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
