The Gorgwork Commander is a hulking warlord clad in brutal, riveted power armour, ready to lead your forces into the grinding meat of grimdark sci-fi conflict. Standing 46mm from top to bottom, this imposing single-character miniature arrives as a physical resin kit in 4 parts, with supports already removed and surfaces cleaned, ready for assembly and painting. The figure features a distinctive sealed helmet with vented faceplate, a twin-barrelled ranged weapon in one gauntleted fist, and a massive cleaving axe raised in the other. Chains, skull trophies, and serrated armour trim reinforce the commanding, war-scarred aesthetic of the sculpt.

The base insert depicts a field of crushed rubble and defeated enemy remains, lending immediate narrative weight to the model. The Gorgwork Commander is ideal as a centrepiece character for any grimdark sci-fi warband or as a high-value objective marker. Assembly requires super glue and basic hobby tools. The four components connect cleanly, making this suitable for painters at every skill level.

Each Gorgwork Commander miniature is cast in high-quality grey resin, capturing every bolt, scratch, and mechanical detail with crisp fidelity. The sculpt rewards close attention during painting and will make a striking presence on any gaming table or display shelf.

Painting Guide: Gorgwork Commander - Sci-Fi Wargaming Miniatures

This guide will help you bring the Gorgwork Commander to life with a gritty, battle-worn finish suited to its grimdark aesthetic.

1. Prime

  • Apply a smooth coat of grey or black primer to seal the resin and provide a consistent base for paint adhesion.

2. Armour Base

  • Basecoat the armour panels with a dark iron or gunmetal grey using a large flat brush.
  • Apply a second coat of a slightly lighter metallic tone to raised areas for subtle variation.

3. Trim and Details

  • Pick out rivets, chains, and trim with a brass or aged gold tone to create contrast against the dark armour.
  • Paint the skull trophies and bone details with an off-white base, then shade with a brown wash.

4. Weapons

  • Basecoat the axe head and gun barrel in dark steel, then edge highlight with bright silver.
  • Add a spot of deep red or hazard orange to the gun muzzles for a powered-up effect.

5. Weathering

  • Apply a dark brown or black wash over all armour panels to deepen recesses and suggest grime.
  • Drybrush the edges of armour plates and weapon blades with a pale silver to simulate battle damage and wear.

6. Bases

  • Paint the rubble and skull debris in earthy browns and bone tones, then finish with a light grey drybrush over the stonework for a blasted battlefield look.

This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
