1. Prime

• Spray with a grey or bone primer to preserve the carved relief detail. Avoid black if you intend to paint the knotwork in light stone tones.
• A zenithal highlight of off-white over grey primer will give instant depth before any paint is applied.

2. Armour Base

• Apply a deep teal or jade basecoat to the large flat panels to evoke a Pacific ocean aesthetic.
• Pick out the knotwork borders in a warm bone or aged ivory to contrast against the dark armour.

3. Trim and Details

• Paint rivets, vents, and mechanical joints in a dark iron or gunmetal. A single edge highlight of bright silver reads well at tabletop distance.
• The totemic face or shark centrepiece on the chest benefits from a darker basecoat with successive lighter highlights to make it leap forward visually.

4. Weapons

• Chainblade teeth look effective in a rust-to-steel gradient, suggesting heavy use and age.

5. Weathering
