Dreadnought Velox Class: Imperial, Chaos or Standard, 32mm

The Dreadnought Velox Class is a towering engine of destruction, available in three distinct variants: Imperial, Chaos, and Standard. Each variant arrives as a physical resin miniature, supports already removed, cleaned, and ready to assemble and paint. Standing at 32mm scale, this hulking war machine captures the brutal aesthetic of grimdark sci-fi warfare with extraordinary detail across every panel, joint, and weapon mount.

Three unique configurations are offered, allowing collectors and wargamers to field the version that best suits their army aesthetic. The Imperial variant features a winged aquila emblem on the chest plate, a missile pod atop the shoulder, a twin-barrelled cannon on the left arm, and a brutal rotary saw on the right. The Chaos variant carries a menacing skull-faced visor, a rotary gatling cannon, and a heavy pistol arm, radiating corrupted aggression. The Standard variant presents a cleaner silhouette with mechanical claw hands and a more utilitarian chassis suited to any sci-fi force.

Every Dreadnought variant in this range is sculpted with sharp panel lines, vents, sensor arrays, and weapon housings that reward careful painting. The resin captures fine surface textures beautifully, making both drybrushing and layering techniques highly effective. These miniatures are designed for adult hobbyists who demand quality and character from their collection pieces.

This guide covers all three variants and will help you achieve a battle-worn, grimdark finish worthy of the tabletop.

1. Prime

• Use a grey or black spray primer for maximum detail retention on the resin surface.
• Apply in thin, even coats and allow full curing before moving on.

2. Armour Base

• Imperial: Apply a deep blue or bone white base coat across the main armour plates.
• Chaos: Use a dark iron or rusted bronze base coat to convey corruption and age.
• Standard: A neutral steel grey or gunmetal works well for a utilitarian look.

3. Trim and Details

• Pick out panel edges, vents, and sensor nodes with a lighter metallic tone such as silver or pale gold.
• Use a fine brush for the chest emblem and facial visor details, which reward careful attention.

4. Weapons

• Paint cannon barrels and gatling muzzles in dark steel, then highlight with bright silver at the tips.
• The saw blades on the Imperial variant can be painted in a worn, chipped steel finish with orange rust at the teeth.

5. Weathering

• Apply a dark brown or black wash into all recesses to deepen shadows and add grime.
• Drybrush raised edges lightly with a bright metallic to simulate battle damage and worn paint.
• Sponge or stipple chipping effects on flat armour panels for a veteran, war-torn look.

6. Bases

• A volcanic or ash wasteland base complements the grimdark theme and suits all three variants.
• Use cracked texture paste, dark gravel, and a glowing orange or red wash to suggest a hellish battlefield environment.
