The Dragon Aegis Incandescents are a squad of three heavily armoured warrior elites, each fused with reptilian biology and outfitted with twin shoulder-mounted rocket pod batteries that dominate the battlefield at range. Sculpted with extraordinary detail, these physical resin miniatures arrive supports already removed and ready to assemble and paint, giving you more time at the painting desk and less time on preparation.
Each warrior in the Dragon Aegis Incandescents unit stands at approximately 32mm scale and features a distinct head variant, including a snarling open-jawed dragon visage, curved horns, and a masked war-helm, making every model feel unique within the squad. Scale-textured torsos, layered pauldrons studded with organic growths, articulated mechanical tentacle limbs, and ornate belt medallions combine organic ferocity with brutal military hardware in a single cohesive design language that reads immediately on the tabletop.
These miniatures are produced at a professional level of detail, capturing fine textures across every surface from the interlocking chest scales to the riveted rocket clusters and claw-tipped gauntlets. The Dragon Aegis Incandescents suit grimdark sci-fi wargaming rosters and make a striking centrepiece unit or elite heavy support choice for any collection built around reptilian warrior factions, chaos-aligned forces, or biomechanical alien armies.
Each set contains three physical resin miniatures. Models require assembly with plastic-compatible super glue and are supplied unpainted. Acrylic or enamel paints are recommended. Models are for adult hobbyists.
Painting Guide: Dragon Aegis Incandescents - Atlan Forge, Sci-Fi Wargaming MiniaturesThe following guide is designed to help you bring your Dragon Aegis Incandescents to life with a cohesive, battle-worn aesthetic that suits their reptilian and militaristic character.
1. Prime
- Apply a coat of grey or black spray primer to the fully assembled or sub-assembled model. Grey primer works well for picking out mid-tone details on the scale textures.
2. Armour Base
- Apply a deep teal or dark jade green as the base colour across all armour plates and scale surfaces.
- Follow with a zenithal highlight of lighter jade from above to establish initial volume on the shoulder pads and chest.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out the rocket pod casings and mechanical joints in a dark iron or gunmetal metallic base coat.
- Drybrush the belt medallion and claw tips with bright gold or bronze to create focal points against the darker armour.
4. Weapons
- Paint the mechanical tentacle arms and gauntlet weapons in a dark steel, then wash with a black oil wash to settle into the recesses.
- Add edge highlights in silver along raised mechanical edges to separate components visually.
5. Weathering
- Apply a dark brown or black oil wash across the entire model, wiping back from raised surfaces to push shading into recesses and simulate grime.
- Sponge chipping on armour plates using a torn blister foam and dark brown paint to suggest battle damage across the scale surfaces.
6. Bases
- Texture paste in a volcanic or ashen grey suits the infernal battlefield aesthetic visible in the promotional imagery. Finish with orange or red washes in recessed areas to suggest lava glow beneath cooled rock.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
