The Diseased Sporehawks Squad descends upon the battlefield as a trio of grotesque winged predators, each one a writhing monument to plague and predatory fury. These physical resin miniatures arrive with supports already removed, ready to assemble and paint straight out of the box. Each creature stands approximately 46mm from feet to eyes, and the set contains 11 parts across 3 models, allowing for striking dynamic poses that convey the savage speed of aerial hunters.
Sculpted with exceptional detail, every model in this squad features torn and punctured membrane wings, elongated skeletal limbs, and monstrous hooked beaks that suggest a lineage corrupted far beyond recognition. Two variants show the creatures pinning armoured victims beneath their taloned feet, while a third soars upward from a base littered with skulls and organic rot. The variety of poses makes this squad ideal for narrative wargaming scenarios, display collections, or as objective markers on the tabletop.
The Diseased Sporehawks Squad is cast in high-resolution resin, capturing every pustule, tear, and texture the sculptor intended. Assembly is straightforward, with each winged body pairing cleanly with its matching base insert. Whether you are building a grimdark daemon swarm force or adding dynamic centrepiece elements to an existing warband, this squad delivers genuine impact on the table.
Each model ships unpainted and requires basic assembly. Plastic cement or super glue is recommended. Bases are included.
Painting Guide: Diseased Sporehawks Squad (x3)The following guide is designed to help you bring the corrupted horror of the Diseased Sporehawks Squad to life using standard hobby paints and washes.
1. Prime
- Apply a black or dark grey spray primer to all three models, ensuring full coverage across the wing membranes and recessed details.
2. Armour Base
- Basecoat the armoured human victim figures in a mid-grey or olive drab to separate them visually from the creatures.
- Paint the wing membranes with a muted purple-grey or pale flesh tone as a starting point for diseased skin.
3. Trim and Details
- Pick out bone protrusions and beak tips with an off-white or bleached bone colour.
- Apply a dark wash such as Nuln Oil or Agrax Earthshade across all surfaces to deepen the recesses and emphasise sculpted texture.
4. Weapons
- Drybrush exposed talons and claws with a light bone or pale yellow highlight to give them a worn, predatory look.
- Paint any visible armour panels on victim models with a metallic silver, then wash with a rust-toned shade.
5. Weathering
- Stipple thin patches of Nurgle's Rot or similar technical paint into the torn wing membranes and around the pustules for a wet, infectious appearance.
- Add streaks of dark brown or dried blood tones running from the talons downward to suggest recent kills.
6. Bases
- Paint skull details on the scenic bases with Zandri Dust and a Seraphim Sepia wash, then drybrush lightly with white for a bleached bone finish. Add tufts of dead grass or contrast texture paint to complete the grimdark aesthetic.
This is an adult hobbyist collectible, not a toy. Not suitable for children under 14 years due to small, detailed parts.
